West Michigan puzzled over booms
WEST MICHIGAN (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - People are buzzing over what could have possibly caused a loud boom and violent shaking last night and this morning throughout West Michigan.

The reports came in from people in Calhoun, Branch and Kalamazoo Counties.

People from all over say they felt and heard it, but Newschannel Three has only heard of one case of actual damage happening during the same time.

John Nieuwenhuis, who lives in Oshtemo, says that he felt and heard the explosion, which shook his entire house.

"Where the two trees are parallel and something completely scrapped both trees off at the same height and laid them to the west," said Nieuwenhuis.

Nieuwenhuis called the fire department but after extensively searching, they couldn't find the source of an explosion.

"I've never seen anything like this, we cut down trees, we log trees and what could have taken this down I have no idea," said Nieuwenhuis.

Newschannel Three tried to search into what might have caused the explosions but, it was a clear night and there was no earthquake activity reported anywhere in the Midwest.

Air Traffic Control in Kalamazoo says no planes were in the area that might have broken the sound barrier.

Huh , that's strange . big Sonic boom is the only thing I can think off . But I have NEVER heard of trees snaped like that almost in the middle . No storms where in the area , so small twister doesn't seem logical .Earthquake would have registered on seismograph . If it was a sonic boom , what ever created it would have to be moving awful damn fast ! Mach 3 or better , I would think . What surprises me is I don't think think windows shattered . And a boom that big to snap trees in half , the concussion would have for sure busted windows . I have heard of sonic booms snapping tree LIMBS off , but never breaking big mature trees in half !Maybe an experamental aircraft ? There is an air force base in Mi. . Of couse it doesn't mean it was launched from there either . But , it's the only thing I can think of .

Yeah, but why just these couple of trees?

 

There is radiation in the area ? And A cover up ? That's saying something from space . Maybe yellowcab is right U.F.O. , or meteor ? Was the radiation cover up before or after the "boom" ? If something took out those trees only in that area , It's VERY strange . I would expect to see a crash site of SOMETHING very close if radiation is being detected . This is getting very interesting . Where again is the nearby radiation cover up links ?

Radiation was after the boom/trees deal. The station reporting the radiation is down and the guy is apologizing profusely... Says it was bad hardware or a "glitch", he doesn't know which...


That doesn't explain the hazmat guys and the DHS responding, nor does it explain another reading in that area from another source. It certainly doesn't explain the broken trees.

 

Thanks Aerianne , something seems very strange here . I'm sure it will be a total media blackout . So info will be hard to get . Sounds like SOMETHING happened ! Or big hoax , and that doesn't seem likely .
