Just discovering them through the comic book community. I think I need higher fidelity recordings than youtube videos provide. "The Watchmen"'s trailer has a SP song under it.
yea, true story dave, how old are you? if you're anywhere around my age I'm surprised you were previously unaware of them.
I'm 21, and, really, was previously unaware of them. I'm thinking they're either a. good for MAYBE 3 songs and the rest is crap or b. I'm just not getting good enough copy.
I used to be in the hardcore when I was in high school. Now its just nostalgic. However, their cover of "Landslide" rocks.
There was a time when I couldn't turn on a radio and NOT hear SP. That's when I got satellite radio and an iPod. Haven't heard them in years, thankfully.
really? i love musicals. you know. like chicago, les miserables, rent, little shop of horrors... how can i get this "musical radio"?
I don't listen to ANY terrestrial radio at all. But I do like some of the music channels on Sirius/XM.
OH DUDE, you have to have to HAVE TO check out these 3 albums: Gish (1991) - very 1960s... lots of LSD! ferocious guitar riffs, licks, and solos... MONSTER drumming! The doors and Hendrix are 2 of the bigger influences on this album. Please see: suffer, bury me, window paine, and siva Siamese Dream (1993) - total over-the-top production and you dont know overdubs until youve heard this specimen of studio majesty! Queen's harmonized guitars, sabbath-esque riffs, colourful psychedelia, and a handful of very successful singles (not that at it matters, the strongest tracks were too long to be singles)... Please see: geek usa, soma, and silverfuck Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness (1995) - this is the masterpiece! the sprawling double album that takes no prisoners.... all i can say is LISTEN TO THIS! ! ! It's like the white album meets master of reality with a hint of, i dont know, it's awesome!
i suppose if it took dave 21 years to discover smashing pumpkins, it is possible that it took him an additional 4 years to discover mellon collie and the infinite sadness.
