I've never been to bonnaroo before, and I was just wondering what its like?
Is it considered the modern woodstock? What is the atmosphere like? Are there drugs?
Tell me about your experiences...bad ones, good ones...anything...

    peace and love

the only thing about it my friends around here talk about is the drug usage. is there more to it? could use the sharing to. (esp to someone who has chosen not to be a part of teh drug culture.)

personally, I think bonnaroo is a lot of fun except for the huge swarms of people, exhausting heat, and the huge shortage of love.........

I've been there twice now and to me it seems as though main stream partiers are finding out that the hippie crowd knows how to kick it so they come in swarms.....

its a good time but I think ten thousand lakes festival will be a bit kinder

tiki god said it just as I would.

It's not for the faint hearted, but the music is pretty good, if you're not too exhausted. I'm ashamed to say I slept thru a couple of the best shows, like Umphreys latenight til 4am (but did catch a lot of good ones). Just too much music to humanly consume it all, unless you clone yourself. A bit overwhelming, not even counting mud and rain.

Bonnaroo is like "Survivor." They list over 80 bands but there's no way you are going see that many bands.... I got to see alot of bands considering the mud, and all the people and how far back we were. My neighbors never made it out, and just stayed at their tents the whole time.
It is draining, but is alot of fun. Just a warning, if your trying to hook up with people though, Bonnaroo is not the festival to hook up with people. It's so big it's so hard to find people!
I like smaller fests personally better because you can meet people, and you will see them again, and you don't have to journey miles.... like Bonnaroo.
Bonnaroo is a good experience if you want to be surrounded by thousands of people.

bonnaroo is definitely an experience. im am vvery glad i went last year, but not 100% if i'll want to do it again... maybe ill be more prepared next time i go. the heat tho was killer for me cuz im from cold ass new england and wasnt quite used to the heat.
just go with good people cuz those are the people you will be around for a long time. bad vibes can sketch shit out.
    good luck
