The pharmacy won't do it. And don't try moving it to the pharmacy where you are going or it will be stuck there forever more.

So even if you are away at the refill time you can't do it early..even if you have never had a early refill before?

And are refills exactly 1 month out? Because they never say on the bottles..only when that refill will expire

dude....you are asking for more pills when your own math puts you back home only 1 day late....thats weak...no way they go for it...;;;;at most if you show them the pills you still have left they will likely add the extra 4 or 6 to get you through.........there is no original idea[scam] left to fill a scrip early...it is very very difficult

That's all i will need. The script i have now is only good for about 3 pills a day but my doc said i can take 4-5 a day if i want. I have had 5 a few days..but mostly only 4. I may see if i can cut it down to 2 pills a day the next few days to offset it

I overheard one in the doctor's office (from the next exam room). Lady told the doc that her druggie niece was at a family gathering and went through all the purses piled on the guest bed with the coats.

Its amazing the detail of the excuses a druggie can come up with if it means scoring. They are able to do this because most times its stuff they actually did such as the purse and coats in the guest room, LOL!

So i just looked on my script...not bottle...and it says 20 days supply..so does that mean after the 20 days i can refill correct...i will be fine then. It says so and so refills before November 2012 and a 20 day supply.

Just call the drug store and ask them.

That should mean you can fill after 20 days, 18 depending on the pharn and your insurance! Now if your paying cash and you get the right pharm, possibly even earlier!

that one is common sense brother...do you really have no idea why scripts cant be written for more than 6 months??

it cuts down on abuse and death

Yeah, a doctor has to see you at least once every 6 months to assess your condition. It may even be a federal law, I'm not sure.

What about vacation overrides - surprised NO ONE mentioned that!!! If you have insurance you can get anywhere from 1 to 3 vacation overrides PER YEAR! Just call your insurance company to ensure you have this benefit with your plan.

This isn't something you need any proof for, we're all adults and the insurance company, pharm and doctor, trust that you will manage your over-rides responsibly and use them legitimately.

Just tell your doc you're going on a vaycay and when you go to the pharm, just say you need a vacation override. The insurance company will, however tack on the days to your next fill, so the amount of pills you have/take per day stays the same.

The way it works is if you get a 4 week supply and you need an override in week 2 due to a long vacation, you will be able to fill it, but then you have to wait SIX weeks for your next one, since technically you're getting them earlier not MORE of them.

Also regarding the 20 day supply, I would check with your insurance. Even though mathematically the supply may work out be a 20 day supply the doctor and pharmacists may put it in for a 30 day supply. I've seen this happen and have had it happen.

Usually once you reach over 80% usage of your script you can usually get your refill. So for a 30 day supply, that would be day 25 - that way you have a 5 day buffer in case anything should happen. No one wants to wait till the last minute to fill medication, especially one on which you are dependent on!

Have fun on your vacation and good luck with getting what you need!!!
