I wish I had the nerve to go barefoot everywhere I go.I would just love to go to Wal- Mart,Kroger,Target,or any retail store barefoot.I would also like to go to a restaraunt barefoot. I absolutly love to go barefoot, but I really only go barefoot when my mom and dad are not home,I dont really care if anybody sees my barefeet when I'm at home(except my mom and dad),but I just can't get up the nerve to go to in say, Wal- Mart barefoot. If I wasn't so shy I would love to never wear shoes again the rest of my life
Just do it. I did and never looked back. I shop at Wal Mart and Aldi every week, barefoot, and have never had a problem in a year. Kroger and Home Depot actually have Shoes Required signs, but oddly enough the only places I've had problems are those that DON'T have such signs (Wendy's restaurant, one particular Lowe's hardware store, Barnes & Noble). I've been into a Red Lobster and McAllister's restaurants barefoot, and a few other fast food joints. But most of the time if my wife is with me, she wants me to wear shoes inside stores and restaurants out of the fear of embarrassment if anyone says anything.
It's your life, though. Don't waste it not doing the things you want to do just because you're put off by what others may think. Some people on here sometimes query why we make such a big deal out of this, but being barefoot if you want to be is part of your personalty and self-expression, which it is important to you as a person to express.
Non-barefooters look at going barefoot as hedonistic, cultist, whatever. Sometimes having solid research on your side will help, if not convert people to going barefoot, at least explain why you have made that choice. While there is tons of documentation out there that supports the barefoot lifestyle, a lot of people will find reasons to discount that research, but it is hard to argue with Harvard. http://barefootrunning.fas.harvard.edu/
