Dear Jesus, Thank you for pretending to commit suicide. I'm very grateful you killed yourself so you could make yourself forgive us. It's hard being a human, especially since we can't change the way you made us. Thank you for creating Satan and his demons. Thank you for creating pain, suffering, and agony, cause I know you're incapable of creating a world otherwise, and you couldn't make free will without adding those things to your creation. Thank you for creating hell, and bless you lord for eternally torturing people for simply not believing you exist. It really reinforces the faith. Thank you for killing billions of people who never could make themselves believe in you, you truly are just and merciful. Thank you for killing children for the inequities of their parents. Thank you for making sure that my prayers are always answered coincidentally, so that the lack of any evidence might keep my faith strong. Thank you, Jesus, for without those things we wouldn't know you exist.
A real atheist would think along the lines of: "Prayer is a device to keep hope alive and serves an important personsl and social purpose in religious societys. Doesnt bother me, carry on"
What do you hope to accomplish with these posts, OP? You're only damaging your cause and furthering the sterotype of Athiests being self-righteous pricks. You're just as bad as the extreme Christians in the street "bashing the bible on people's heads"
I find that a lot of people who have had bad or let's say less than favorable experiences with religion, are very bitter and generalize religious people as all being ignorant. It's important not to pass judgments on others less ye be judged
I'm actually incredibly surprised to see such intelligently respectful responses to such an ignorant post, even the non-Christians. Pretty atypical from my forum experience on the matter.

Agreed. A sneeze is already a blessing, from the Great Green Arkleseizure. We only need fear the Day of the Handkerchief.
A lot of people judge the Christian faith based on their cultural perception of it, and misguided personal experiences. Just thought of something: the people who are "Above the Influence", don't you think they feel that way about drugs for the same reasons? I'm not talking about the greedy, sell-out businessmen. I'm talking about the "oh, I used to smoke weed" and "I've seen others do it" type of people. The ones who used mind-altering drugs, but are now very against them. Or the ones that were around people that used them a certain way, so they think that's the only way people use them. (e.g. the stoner stereotype) Cultural perception and personal misguided experiences. Just some food for thought there guys. As someone who likes to call himself a truth seeker, I try not to allow either to get in the way of my understanding of things. Oh, and Christianity doesn't reject science. If anything, the Bible actually has some scientific truths that were written before anywhere else. (Earth is a sphere suspended in space, the stars aren't god, the sun and moon aren't god, the existence of ocean currents, and others) I don't see how evolution is incompatible, either. The Bible is obviously an imperfect book. Not to mention after all the translations it's been through. (The replacement of "calamus" over the original "kanneh-bosm" [cannabis] is one I like to bring up.) But that doesn't mean there's not a lot of good truths in it. Or that God Himself is imperfect. Personally to me the lack of existence of God is irrational and ignores a lot of evidence. Plus it defies science. (Big Bang had to come from somewhere you know.) Now, I'm not looking for a long drawn out debate. But if others are free to speak their mind, well then I am, too. Peace and love!
