I haven't been to the dentist in well over a decade.... My shit's fucked... I know it. My appointment is in one hour and 14 minutes.. I'll let yall know when I get back what they say...
i went last year for the first time in about 25 years and it wasnt so bad..just one filling went back again about 6 months ago and got a second one done next time I think ill just make them yank it..i dont like fillings they dont feel right..im constantly feeling like my body is rejecting them
I haven't been to a dentist in close to 20 years... i have 2 or 3 teeth that have broke in the back of my jaw.. but the only inconvienence is food getting stuck.. which is cured with a quick swish of water
I just went through this - root canal, crown and two fillings. Don't let them push into anything unnecessary - some will lie to get more money out of you. Good luck.
WOW 8 cavities and they want to pull my wisdom teeth. Also they're putting me on some recalcification paste stuff. Then My wife and I get in the car to leave (she had an appointment too) and she drops a big bomb on me.. she says, "I haven't been since I was 8 and I didn't even have any cavities." She has to have her wisdom teeth pulled because they are causing problems.. My wisdom teeth are fully grown in, but they said they want to remove them because it's going to cause problems later on because they're so tight up against the teeth in front of it that they said there is no way to clean what needs to be cleaned and that it will only rot and cause problems later... I don't know if that's necessity or a sales pitch. I guess my wife's are necessary because they are bothering her from time to time and they aren't all the way in yet.
one thing I don't understand is that some of my friends who have (seemingly) decent teeth are getting abcesses and infections, and, here i am with straight up methmouth and not even so much as ever had a toothache... What gives.?
Regarding your wisdom teeth. Depending on who you ask, it's either completely necessary or it isn't. It may depend on the person though but I'm not sure. I had my wisdom teeth pulled out years ago and it sucked ass. Apparently if I didn't, my mouth would be completely fucked. The aftermath is just plain torture. I really wished they let me have whatever they drugged me with during the surgery because that shit was alright until I passed out. I don't get it either. When I was little, I use to not bush my teeth for weeks and would never get so much as a cavity.
I made it 36 years without a filling or any other work about the abcesses and stuff that just depends on the person..some people have weak immune systems...people die from tooth problems all the time...very easy to get a bad blood infection from that
Damn dude that's intense! I haven't been to the dentist in like four of five years so I'm worried too...
My significant other's dental bill estimate is $7,000 to have everything he needs done. Needless to say, until we get insurance, that will be a slow-going process. I need a little corner of one of my front teeth rebuilt, no idea how much that will cost. But I really enjoy the dentist. Anytime he does anything unpleasant, he gets me waaaay high first. I'm totally alright with that.
that's just the thing. My teeth are NOT healthy. neither is my brother's. our mom has all her real teeth and she's 68
There's this great indie comedy movie called Secret Lives of Dentists, about a dentist and family man who discovers his wife is having an affair; the first act is full of jokes about how strange they are. He's having a sadistic fantasy about a bad patient (who's a jazz flautist): "Well, you're going to lose every tooth in your mouth, my friend. You've got one of the worst cases of gum disease I've ever seen. So you can forget about your lousy, little embouchure"
wow.. I told my dentist that while I wasn't "Scared", I have had dreams in the past of my teeth all falling out.
i should really go to the dentist, i haven't been in years and i have 80% coverage right now through my wife's school health plan. my wisdom teeth are still there. i went for a consultation a decade ago and the surgeon told me that they were fine, but that he suggested i get them removed because the surgery is generally harder to do if i have to get them removed when i'm older. i decided against it (no coverage and it seemed unnecessary) and i just make sure to spend extra time brushing back there.
