Hello, I finally tried marijuana for migraine relief today. So far it has worked great. I have suffered from migraines since I was 8. I have been prescribed to many migraine prevention and pain medicine in my life and nothing has worked better than good ol' cannabis. It surprises me that people think marijuana is just used to get high, it is a great medicine also. What have been some of your guy's experiences with marijuana and migraines?

I've suffered from migraines for the last 10 years. Migraines that last for up to a month. The last time this happened the doctor went as far as giving me shots in the back of my head, which still didn't break the cycle. I finally got ahold of some good green. I smoked 2 joints over a couple of hours, migraine gone.

I don't smoke regular anymore because of random piss tests, but will be when I get the next migraine. Way better then all the pills.

I am about to go to bed and no migraine pain resurfaced a lot better than 1000mg of ibuprofen. Marijuana is a great migraine relief medicine best I ever had.

I was having a migraine last night and i decided to try smoking some weed to see how it would affect it. I was happy to see that it took most of the nausea away, as well as dulled the pain quite a bit. I was thinking of asking my doctor to allow me access to medicinal marijuana to treat my migraines, since it's been an on going problem and I've found little relief other than weed. I hope it works lol.

Good luck, I don't know what state your in but I mentioned it to mine, the fact that it was the only thing I had done that broken the cycle and she looked at me like I was from mars, said she really didn't have any knowledge of how cannabis would help and I should stick to the pills she was giving me.

maybe you guys should see a dentist.. many sinus headaches can be confused with migraines.. ive been going around and around with the Veterans Admin about my headaches and dental...
I had a neighborhood dentist clean my teeth a few times and take xrays, there he said over a year ago this tooth has to come out.. I then used the VA for dental surgeons, and there a tooth was extracted one yr ago, then another a few months ago. While Ive made numerous trips to private doctors seeking pain treatment. What Ive told some Doctors as I feel as if I have suffered a stroke on this side, while still maintaining mobility of my limbs and stuff, this couldn't be the case.. The increadible amount of pain I was in seemed to radiate from a tooth, and the dentist still says there isnt anything wrong when the other says: "There is a hole in it, you can see right through it!! how could they not see that?".. It come to the conclusion that much this pain was coming from a tooth- and while one set of doctors allowed me to suffer for over a year another fixed it immediately.=/

I have since contacted an attorney and in the process of filing a malpractice suit..

To get you back on topic, I have this ever sense of WTF in the VA doing to the veterans. I have to assume they know everything about me. But this was a simple procedure. Totally over looked to keep me in pain and hooked on NARCOTICS!!.. I have bad news for them. Im a soldier still, I know the enemies tactics and you the Veterans Administration is now the enemy .. and you always have been..

Smoking Cannabis become rather difficult with this tooth ache, many times it increased the amount of pain I was in..
They probably know, that Im not taking the narcotics they prescribe, since they do blood work , and yet they continue to prescribe them @ ever so high milligrams..

They actually believe I take 90mg of oxycottin a day. What the fuck!!! Top that off with more narcotics, other pain medications- some of which I do take: I take Toradol more often than opiates ..

I tell them Atavans work for migraines I get, and they want to give me an attitude over a benzo.... True: I dont get 30 migraines a month, so 8 tiny pills should cover it.. LOL..

The thing is also, people tend to confuse certain head pains with others, calling them migraines when they could be the cause of many things. Dehydration, bad diet, medication side effect, tobacco, perfumes, back troubles, stiff necks, backed up plumbing and sexual plumbing problems, among many others..

Important to know whats going on with yourself day to day.. As in keeping a journal of what you ate, did ect.. Diet is a main factor in migraines > For instance keeping a journal allowed me to track migraines caused by, none other PEANUT BUTTER.. go figure, a squirrel getting headaches from nuts.. Well, its been rough, :(..

So Im just going to smoke a joint now,, haha.... sometimes Cannabis helps, sometimes it does not. It all depends on whats going on internally also(clogged plumbing / constipation on a thin bodied person like myself, is headache central.. Ive learned to handle this with warm water enemas,., sometimes water with force, and inducing vomiting... Once all the crap is out of my system, I do not need drugs other than Tylenol for regular aches and pains and my cannabis, nice coffee and new well balanced meal...
Ive found taking medications on this type headache will do no good. The only thing that helps is flushing the system and restarting it..

Oddly, if I have a headache when I smoke it, the headache goes away.
But if I don't have a headache, and then smoke it, about 50% of the time I get a headache afterward.

Smoking cannabis, ingesting the oil and using it in recipes heals the body like no other herb and drugs have to many side affects.
