Hello! i have been trying to bring back some of the flower-child spirit by organizing gatherings last summer, and i just had my first Free-In a few weeks ago. During the Free-Ins, generous souls bring in anything that they no longer want and you can take absolutely anything there. We have so much fun! People play guitar and sing, paint each other, run around the forest, share food and great vibes. But then I look at the beautiful Love-Ins and other gatherings of the 60s, and there are SO MANY people there! Do any of you wonderful souls know how so many showed up, or what made them successful? i am hoping that once i move to California, the Free-Ins may become bigger Thank you
I wasn't there so I can't answer from experience. I think it was a special point in time that may not be so easy to recapture today. Sure, beautiful things can still happen but we don't have the specific combination of ingredients from the 60's. Each time is unique unto itself, really.
We should make a national Love-in. It would be huge and awesome. There haven't been any where I live though.
How were the "love ins" organized? As best I remember, they weren't organized, they were announced and happened. Peace, poor_old_dad
Love-ins were spontaneous at first. Later on there were elements of more control. After a while they became commercial almost, and then they just died out. I like your idea of a Free-In!
