That's idiotic. He didn't start it. He did everything he could to prevent it. Lincoln was one of our greatest Presidents.

Want to see idiotic and stupid, look in the mirror. The south was going to secede from the union, and as always, the republicans forced their ideology on the confederates, for the profit of the rich. The rich corporations in the north were making all the profits, by producing the finished products that were made from the raw materials that the south grew. So the south decided to secede and make their own factories. But the greedy republicans weren't going to let that happen, even at the expense of 750,000 American lives. Lincoln was a bigot that wanted to deport all the blacks after the war. The war wasn't about freeing the slaves, it was about profit for the rich. He was also a homosexual that slept with a military officer in the White House. Not that there's anything wrong with being a homo, it's just another example of republican hypocrisy. He was also an atheist. He wrote a paper denouncing God, but was told that if he published it, it would ruin his political career. History books are written by the victors of wars. History is always told from their perspective, which usually isn't the truth. For instance, when the Catholic church used to tell everyone the world was flat, and burned people at the stake as heretics for saying otherwise. So stop believing the world is flat.

You need to stop believing the GOP. That video was from the History Channel, and obviously you didn't bother to watch it. Lincoln was an asshole, just like all the other republicans, from Hoover who caused the great depression, to the criminal Nixon. Ronnie Raygun almost tripled the national debt, Shrub daddy doubled it in only four years, and Shrub Jr. added more to the national debt than all presidents before him added together. You are proof that republican voters are mentally handicapped.

I watched it and it just didn't say what you thought it said or maybe what you wanted it to say.

Perhaps as you say, I'm mentally handicapped but I've never voted Republican and do not agree with their ideology, it sounds good but does not seem to work in the real world.

Also if you had bothered to read (you can read can't you?) any of my previous posts you would have seen that I consider "Monkeyboy" (Shrub Jr.) to be by far the worst President the US ever had and that the US and perhaps even the whole world, may not even survive his Presidency, if it does it will only be by the skin of it's teeth.

 

You seemed to be trying to defend the republicans, maybe just Lincoln. But letting the south secede had to be better than 750,000 Americans dead. In fact, had they seceded there wouldn't be a civil war going on in congress now. I don't know if you've seen the contenders for Romney's vice president declaring civil war on the democrats ideology the other day, but I don't like the idea of the fascist GOP threatening me and my liberal friends. The GOP is trying to force women to have children they can't afford. They have passed a law allowing women to be paid less than men. They are trying to destroy Social Security, and Medicare, and Medicaid, and education, and health care. They are also trying to destroy the middle class, and succeeding. It's the same old tired "screw the poor, and give to the rich" ideology since Lincoln.
The GOP destroyed my family, and I will never forgive republicans for it. The last time I talked to my mother she called me a terrorist because I didn't support Shrubs invasion of Iraq, and hung up the phone on me. I haven't talked to her for over eleven years. She also disowned my sister because she has two kids that are gay. One of them got HIV, and my mom told my sister that she hoped he got AIDS and died. My mother also did things like, kick me out of her house on Christmas Eve in a rain storm, after I had hitch hiked 80 miles to see her. She put me in a boys ranch for troubled boys when I was twelve, and never came to see me the whole six months I was there. She had met her soon to be third husband (a republican), and was starting her new life of respectability. From then on I was a worthless stupid kid. Before she met that asshole, (who by the way is only eight years older than me), her and I were very close. She was a compassionate liberal, now she's a very ugly holier than thou republican. I'll probably never see her alive again. But from now on I will expose the evil that comes from the republican ideology, even Lincoln's. He was no fukin hero.

While he is not on the list , I'd have to say Woodrow Wilson . And Ronald Reagan as the worst two in our history .

The damage Wilson did , set the stage for American destruction With the Federal reserve act and The I.r.s. . While Lincoln singed the first income tax act to pay for the civil war . Income tax was ruled as unconstitional in 1895 . But thanks to taft and the 16th amendment Wilson was able to unify all tax laws and create a progressive income tax rate of up to 77 % . I believe he must get mention for the worst president ever . His actions alone sealed America's fate . For allowing a private enity group of criminal bankers to control our currency . He entered us into ww 1 too . And tried to enter us into the league of nations . Which was stopped by congress . An early n.a.t.o. and u.n. , which if entered into could have forced the U.S. into war on behalf of other league nations . For sure one of the worst we ever had !

Ronald Reagan , was another with his trickle down economic bullshit . And deregulation and oversight of banking industry laws , which was a direct effect of the 2008 economic collapse and the housing "crisis" . Not to mention his assult on the middle class and working family's through all out union busting campaigns like the air traffic controllers strike , when he replaced all striking air traffic controllers with scabs . It's his administration that hurt organized labor more than any other . Which only helped wipe out most of the middle class today . And lets not forget the Iran contra affair , which was nothing more than an illegal drug running operation .

And lets not forget every presidential term and all presidents after ww2 who engaged in illegal wars without congressional consent . And every one post ww2 has been .

I can't really give you a reason to vote for Romney but after all the transparency talk that Obama gave about his health care that was going to be bipartison and debated on C-Span this independant is voting against Obama. How good is a bill that you have to bribe your own party to vote for? Pelosi saying that you have to pass the bill to see what is in it. That is some definition of transparency.
The worst part is canidate Obama saying he was going to cut the deficit in half. Now it really is time for change.

 

If the Democrats are such big spenders, why is it that the debt shot up enormously when Mr. Small Government Ronnie Raygun was in office, and again when Dubya was in office 'protecting us from the terrorists'? And why is it that the only balanced budget in decades was achieved for a couple of years under Clinton?

In other words, do you ever look at statistics regarding the budget or do you just listen to political rhetoric?

 

...And Clinton was the only POTUS to leave the White House with a balanced budget and a $300 billion annual surplus, which Shrub Jr. turned into a $300 billion deficit in less than six months. And Shrub did it with a republican congress! The cons are out to destroy American and create the 4th Reich. They're a bunch of bigot fascists, run by the Ku Klux Klan.

 

Three words: Starve The Beast Though Reagan realized he was starving it a bit too much and ended up raising taxes. It's funny that Republican voters don't see the plan for what it is - hike the debt up during Republican administrations by lowering taxes and then when a Democrat is in the White House they call for fiscal responsibility and propose to cut spending (never to the defense budget though - cause that's like, not government). What a fucking racket. Dems and Repubs both increasingly answer to the same masters anyway. USA is fucked.
