Kid Rock- New voice of Michigan?

Buddy of mine and I have been discussing that Kid Rock is getting the torch past to him from Bob Seger as the new Voice Of Michigan in Rock and Roll. What do the rest of you think about this.

That's an insult to Michigan.

 

I dunno about all that... I do know Kid Rock opened for Bob Seger at Orlando Calling Music Festival this year though... Kid Rock will never ever EVER be on par with Bob Seger... Ever.

 

It has nothing to do with being on par with anybody. I'm just talking about promoting Michigan. Kid has had several songs out lately about Michigan with the videos being shot in The UP and the Lower Peninsula. He also declares at the drop of a hat that he's a Michigander.

 

I think I feel sorry for Michigan.

Of course, I'm from SC and all we have is Hootie and the Blowfish. So what do I know?

 

not a big fan of either. Michigan has waaaaay more talented musicians than that guy. Seth Bernard and his bands seem to nail the Michigan sound in my mind. Check out Airborne or Aquatic?.. they are phenomenal. Especially if you have the pleasure of seeing them live!

i know he raps, but they still play him on the rock stations since he's white. just like the beastie boys.

 

I love Kid Rock. Nice to have him as a fellow Michigander.
