Oh really, no use for it?

Here's what I'm presently using it for:
    GPS
    Netflix (spools perfectly)
    Internet browsing
E-book reader (since we publish ebooks we needed a reader!)
Translator (just talk into it and it will translate your words into like a dozen languages, verbally - and it works great!) Good for those who travel.
    Voice control, operate it verbally.
Angry Birds (yeah, got addicted right away, but going to stop...)
2 Cameras (can use it to skype and take pics, but I have better cameras)
HDMI - 1080p output so I watch netflix and other videos on big HD tv, works flawlessly.
Android 4.0.4 latest version is fantastic!
Google Play Store, Amazon Store for books, apps, music, etc.
Music - Using Pandora + My own collection which fits on 32 gig chip.
    Cookbook

And that's only after a few days of having it...

I will also turn it into a neat radiation detector/geiger counter for just $5.

No need for a cloud, no need for a separate GPS unit or ebook reader or even a laptop.

And you can walk around with it, no strings attached!

Works for 5+ hours non-stop video or whatever, up to 36 hrs battery life.

And all that for $127...less than ebook readers or GPS alone! Does almost as much as my $700 laptop, some things even better!

Comes with 7" capacitive screen, USB port (unlimited storage with external device), HDMI, microsd slot, etc.

I was very reluctant to get any kind of mobile device since I know the companies behind the software will watch everything you do. But I had biz reasons that finally made me give in.

And I'm glad I did. I now see where all this technology is heading, and it's going to be very mobile and very personal and very interactive.

What these tablets all have is an EASY TO USE interface that is very intuitive. Far easier to learn and operate than any computer. That is the big innovation besides integrating all these other devices into one.

Yes, no need for it. I especially wouldn't want to watch movies on it, I rather use my one big screen for all this shit. That I don't want to invest in a mobile internet device may be just me but I don't see why so many people NEED it. I guess it's just fun to be up to date with the mainstream technology. I can see it is handy to have all those functions on one device but I don't use them and the bigger argument I stay away from them: I don't wanna get used to them :p

I guess it all comes down on what you feel you need. I don't feel need for a cloud either and had my doubts when I first heard about this stuffing your data online thing. I only use it to get and spread new music and movies for free (yes, I need that! :p) which works ideally this way.

So you're using the cloud for illegal activities, yes? And you don't think it'll come back to you?

I don't think it will although there is a small chance it could come back to me indeed. It's not like a homicide and I don't agree with the law on this subject so I don't see a problem here until then. I do see (smaller and also subjective) problems with the tablet and internet phones though, but like I said it's easy for me to shove them aside since I don't want those advantages neither.

Yeah I guess so...I stream netflix on my phone and Nook, but don't do it often because of battery life. My Dropbox is specifically for files. Although, my husband shared a few CDs with me this week to transfer to my SD card and it did eat up a lot of storage
