Women can get pregnant without intercourse. A guy can come on the womans vagina and the seeds can go right through.

Since vriginity was a big deal back then, I'm sure she must've tried a stunt like this.

Nice replies to your post, NOT.

There is one recorded case of a woman having a baby as a virgin in recent times, and it was an identical twin of herself. The medical opinion was that an exact twin is the only type of baby a virgin could have, therefore a baby boy is impossible.

tha main way for a woman to have virgin birth is to have sex with someone and then say they didn't, especially during a time when it was a crime to have a child out of wedlock.*hint hint

You mean like if they did it after the first ceremony, but before the second one nine months later, when they are 'allowed' to do it? I see your point, and also add that Josephs lineage is still in the good book. What the heck is the deal? Why is his lineage in there? Huh? Why? Come on all you Christians, please explain that so I can understand, cuz no one has yet.
    Please!

da real deal is this... mary's whoring ass got knocked up by the goat herder up the hill and had to tell joseph something to keep him from beating her ass.... hence emaculate conception...!

Religion can't beat science in this case. There's no way she was a virgin.

Its the kind of thing people will believe because its in the bible, but not if someone actually claimed it in modern times.

You guys have to see everything to believe.... Thats why in the end the Anti- christ will be your God because he will show you all his signs and wonders.

But keep in mind the words of Jesus:

“A wicked and adulterous generation asks for a miraculous sign!"

Yes and most hard core Christians have to NOT see something to believe it. If some dillusioned long haired hippy looking guy in a robe came up to you and said they could turn water into wine - you'd think he was crazy. For some odd reason though, Christians believe that there once was a man that could do this.

I'm just saying that jesus accepted and hung out with prostitutes and beggars, but a modern Christain wouldn't, at least not the average one......

so if something happened, something that appeared very special, it would have to be the devil doing it, it couldn't be god...and how would you know who it is.....if god no longer performs miracles that can be seen, but the devil does what does that mean....is god dead....he only did things like impregnate virgins in the distant past or what

I would not put money on it, but i feel he lived, and have no problem accepting that he could do miraculous feats, since I have seen others do similar things in person.

I just cannot accept the 'died for my sins' thing. I would refuse to let him do that for me. I will take my lumps, and if he was divine, he'd be the last one that I would make pay for my own sins. I'll pay for them myself thank you very much.

Even if he is fictional, that does nothing to lessen the value of the message attributed to him.

the line they are peddling is that old Nick, (the antagonist, Lucifer.), was granted a timelimited offer of ruling earth....so God is just abiding by the terms of the agreement. Hmm, who'd take him to task if he did break the terms?
I have seen tons of miracles, so I can't answer that one.

Who knows what went down 2000 years ago, for sure? I am very skeptical when I hear someone knows for sure, but maybe I shouldn't be, since I cannot say I know they are wrong, and I try to live and let live, innocent till proven guilty. I am not quite there yet.....

I keep hearing all this, and all I can see is that it's a grand metaphor. The devil is our egoic self, which lives for a limited time then dies (we are mortal), while god is the eternal self, the universal self which cannot die. "Satan" is indeed a lie, it's the idea that we are seperate selves distinct from god, when really all existance is god; thus we strive for power of our own. So yeah, if satan "wins" our attention, we go to hell...but not when we die, but while we live. We are in the darkness, blinded to the truth, tormented by our ignorance. Find god, and then the kingdom is yours inasmuch as it's god's, because you've unified with god. Heaven on earth.

Thinking on this as literal fact doesn't work, and just confuddles people. All this starts making far more sense when you take it as metaphor, and all the differences between churches, and on larger scales, whole religions, become unimportant as well as understandable...it's just different symbology!

We believe that Jesus is God because he fulfilled all of the 300+ prophecies of the Old Testament. Also, He still works miracles today.

jesus fulfilled all of the 300 acts of the old testament cuz it was authored with a second version in mind! ironically noone knew about any of the books of the bible until after christ died!

    there are no absolutes
it was not authored with a second version in mind, it was cobbled together from ancient Sumerian, and Egyptian texts, and then customized by the Israelites.
i dont see the irony, and the thought that no one knew of the bible....Jesus studied it as a child.......that is more likely how he knew what to do.

Can you explain yourself a little better?.... But anyway, the Jews were well aware of the prophecies, they just simply denied the obvious. Some of the prophecies were over 1000 years old and the Jews were well aware of them.
