misreading people's screen names

I was confused by your avatar for a while. I think I might have asked outright at one point.

People seem to think I'm Roo R shack or something.

It's ROOR shack, like a shack full of bongs made by the brand RooR, onomatopoeia for the inkblot psych evaluation (and the character in "Watchmen").

 

I always think "Tyronswood" instead of "Tyrsonswood".

 

Yeah... so does Google.

 

That's why I put spaces between my letters--I am superior to all of you! Actually, it used to look a lot better because when I first joined, they didn't have the limit on how many letters you could use, so I was actually "Strawberry Fields Forever" now I'm just some incomplete-sounding Strawberry Fields Fo. Like I'm an enemy of fields of strawberries. I picked the name because that was my favorite song at the time (I was an angsty 17 year old..."No one I think is in my tree" was the ultimate emo verse in my Beatles-loving world)

I'm also white as hell, but I picked an Indian avatar for some reason, I think because I was a Buddhist at the time so anything Indian was automatically awesome and rebellious (I was raised in the Bible Belt...). Other than that I'm pretty obvious.

I've misread plenty of screen names, just none that I can remember here. Although "Tyrsonswood," I've always wondered how you pronounced that...I say "Tear Sons Wood" in my head.

 

It's actually Tyrson's Wood... just kind of mashed together and without punctuation. In the ancient germanic languages Tyr sounded closer to tire.

i intentionally misread screen names and change them to suit your perceived[by me] personalities in rl...i often put a filthy or mean twist on it to reflect my own personality in rl

I often can't remember people's screen names, that's why i love the "quote" function, and that's why i'm often tempted to call people by their actual name when i know it.
The longest screen names i just mentally call them with just the first letters or a shorter word. Rolling (Rollingalong). Tiresome (Tyrsonswood). (but i don't think he's tiresome at all). Imin (I'minmyunderwear). etc

I thought lynzxx was lynx for a long while.

There was a couple months where like a few new members kept saying my name as querillabedlam with a q instead of a g because the underline of the username threw them off I think . It's strange because this was all in the same couple months people were pronouncing my name like that.
