the title says it all really but I'll elaborate. I've taken psychedelics for a good few years now but I've never tripped on psilocybin. I don't trust myself not to pick poisonous mushrooms as I am no expert, so I want to buy some online to be sure of what I'm taking. Does anyone know of anything suitable? thanks.
If you are a beginner and are scared of poisonous mushrooms, I'd go ahead and get a spawn bag. A spawn bag is something with the Rye or Rice or whatever along with the culture already in it (make sure it has everything suitable). It also has a self-sealing syringe hole in the bottom to prevent contamination as well. I can't really help you with vendors because I don't really do that thing, but I don't know any anyways because it's been years. My advice is: Shop around the internet, do some research, and don't go for the first website you come across. And most of all: Don't get ripped off (especially when trying to buy spores). Good lucky my friend, hope you find more help with your inquiries.
I don't have any links but I know there are genuine growing kits available on the internet. My friend bought one a few years ago and we tripped on his harvest :2thumbsup:
If you want to try Psilocybin why not pop over to Amsterdam and try them. A round trip ticket from London to the DAM will run you $280 for the weekend. Try them out and while you are there pick up some spores.
Kits are a rip-off and give poor yields. get spores. learn to sterilize grain jars, shoot em up with spores, wait till colonization, spawn to coco coir, wait till colonization, induce fruiting and harvest shrooms. It's simpler than it sounds. If you are confused about any of that do a search at www.shroomery.org
Actually having said that, I would much prefer to pick them naturally than to have to grow them at home. Going mushroom-picking out in nature would no doubt be a nice way to spend a day. What I really need is to know exactly what I'm looking for. You people have learned what to look for, so where did you learn? Is there some reputable guide-book or something that everyone should have?
What Omacatl said is the best advice, get some spores and learn how to do it yourself -- far cheaper and more effective than a kit. It's a great hobby. Shroomery has some great advice and TEKs, but there are many OMCs out there. I help out at a couple of them. There are lots of spore vendors to purchase from, and you can even get your first print free from Free Spore Ring Earth, for he cost of mailing. http://fsre.nl/
The best book is Psilocybin Mushrooms of the World here is the pdf of the entire book http://www.4shared.com/office/TYuV4pK9/psilocybin_mushrooms_of_the_wo.html
David Arora's books are great if you live in the west coast of the US.... other then that it is pretty useless because the weat coast of the US (particularly the rainforest of Washington) has alot of species of mushrooms that are rare just about everywhere else on earth. Best to get a mushroom guide that is written for your region so you can focus on what species are in the area and not have to sift through 100s of species that are never going to be found there and will ultimately confuse the piss out of you.
Hunting for mushrooms is great fun but highly unreliable because you never know how many you will find or their potency ( it varies greatly from mushroom to mushroom in the wild) But growing them you have all the mushrooms you could ever need and the potency is alot more consistent. Id suggest you learn both identifying and how to grow (not using a kit)
I'm actually going to have to throw in a dissenting opinion here -- I've found kits to be extremely helpful! If you do end up looking online for kits, I'd recommend getting something out of caligrowkits.com -- my yields have been good, and plus their manuals explain the process in such a way that it's not confusing or difficult for beginners at all. That's my two cents!
nice spam. Im going to chime in with the chorus here for a sec...KITS SUCK. :mickey: I bet your cali growkits are an enormous waste of time and money compared to some light work with agar, grain, and bulk substrate.
That was an unnecessarily vicious response -- the original poster actually ASKED for kit recommendations. Not everyone has the time necessary to do DIY stuff.
