Blows me away. Emotional on every level, moving, beautiful.
Reminds me off back when things use to be good for me, and looking back, depressing, yet meaningful.

 

Tristania is also a very nice band of that style

 

for you my friend i reccomend majestic downfall. they kind of remind me of lake of tears, but with growled vocals, and better.

I really like Empyrium too. Ensiferum is great sometimes as well. I used to like some gothic and gothic/doom stuff as well, but I grew out of it mostly. Some of it I still like though, mostly songs and even some albums. Anathema - Serenades for example. :cheers2:

these are my favorite death metal bands. though opeth really are not a death metal band anymore

 

also i like to add that its nice to see that other people are liserning to these great bands

 

Isengard are a band to look into. It's more of a side project of Fenriz from Darkthrone. Vinterskugge has a variety of different styles while Høstmørke is more of a straight up black/folk metal album.

Hey man, as you can easily hear Fenriz was also in Storm. If you dig the folky stuff of Isengard you dig Storm as well! Unfortunately Storm was a one thing only project and I wish there was more Isengard material too. I prefer it over Darkthrone myself

 

I've heard Storm years ago but I'll give it a fresh listen. Coincidentally enough, I have Soulside Journey playing right now...
