The Amazing Spider Man Movie Blurb by Shale July 4, 2012 Anybody want my DVD of Spider-Man 2002 with Tobey Maguire & Kirsten Dunst? This reboot makes me wonder if I will ever put that one in the player again. Oh, the story of the new movie is just as fantastical and special effects are special effects - seen that before. But, the new Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield) is so much more believable as the nerdy, very intelligent, high school kid with some typical teen boy attitude that erases the character as played by Maguire. Also, instead of Mary Jane Peter is hesitantly enamored with this cute HS girl Gwen Stacey (Emma Stone) and the chemistry between the two really works. Gwen Stacey & Peter Parker This is a remake of the original Spider-Man beginnings with a little background of what happened to his parents to have him being raised by his Uncle Ben (Martin Sheen) and Aunt May (Sally Field). Uncle Ben, Aunt May and Peter Just as in the original movie, Peter gets bitten by a genetically altered spider that was used in making "biocable" a very strong cord. This time he has snuck into a lab at OsCorp, where his father once worked with Dr. Curt Conners (Rhys Ifans) on genetically combining DNA of different species. Dr. Conners is trying to regrow his missing arm like a lizard regrows a new tail. Of course you know where that kinda research goes. Lizard Doctor in Lab After being bitten by the spider, Peter wakes up to discover all his new physical enhancements, like sticking to subway ceilings and walls, greater strength and agility. Typically, like a teen he uses these powers to get back at a HS bully who picked on him and others but eventually gets around to going after bad guys. Spidey On The Scene When the scientist Conners turns into a big reptile thingy, Spider-Man gets his first real test. From there it is a bunch of web slinging/swinging (what would you expect from Director Marc Webb?), battling a very large, smart reptile and taking a bit of a beating. As you can tell, I really liked this movie just like the majority of aggregate reviews and audience surveys. I will likely see it again - I may even spring for the 3-D version. A lot of scenes you could tell were made specifically for 3-D. (BTW - That offer of giving away the DVD was for dramatic effect only - you can't have my DVD. I may even watch it again before I get the DVD of this amazing Spider-Man movie).

Well, I did see it again this weekend - in 3-D. While this movie was actually shot with 3-D cameras and the 3-D effect was well made, it was unnecessary. Seeing this movie in 2-D is just as good as the 3-D version and $4 cheaper. So, save your money unless you are really in love with this resurgent gimmick. (Note To Self: Learn from this. Stop wasting your money on 3-D movies)
I saw this one today, it was really good, this Garfield certainly less woosey that Maguire. But in the long run, these kind of movies are only really as good as how memorable the baddie is, I thought Lizard Man was kind of stupid, and same kind of thing as the Hulk movies just didnt look believable, which really stuck out cos all the other effects looked pretty awesome The trippy part for me was seeing C Thomas Howell in a big movie again (the father of the kid on the Bridge), back in my teens The Outsiders was one of my favourite books and I had a big girlie crush on Ponyboy both from the book and the movie. And i didnt know he was in this, so I had myself a little groupie moment half way through...OMG OMG OMG its Ponyboy. Finally, just once I'd like to see them do one of these movies and rely more on actual stunts rather than CGI, Spiderman would have been perfect for this, a team of base jumpers and abseilers would have taken your breath away. CGI looks cool, but its you know its not real so its just just err yeah. Thinking recently to that scene in MI4 where Tom Cruise is hanging out the window, or Fast 5 when they crash through the tin roof, when you know its a real stunt, it really sticks out
It really was a great movie, more accurate than the first series. Really excited about the second one! And sweet review man
I didn't like it that much, I thought it was disappointing. The original movie remains more iconic (theme song, spider-man suit, the dialogue "with great power comes great responsibility). And Spider-man 2 is still by far the best Spider-man movie. I think they tried to emulate Doc Oc in TAS with Doc Connors, because Oc was such a successful and well received villain, but the Lizard/Connors fell a bit flat I feel. I have to say the fight scene in the school was excellent, the cinematography was better than the original series as well. I do think there's big potential for the sequel to be really awesome. And I guess I'm in the minority that prefers Toby as Spider-man as well.
I love this movie from part 1 , 2 and 3. However my most favourite is Part 2 as the actor is good looking and cool.
