Hello everyone! "The Dancing Trees" is an oil painting I completed in 1967. I had a recurring dream over the course of several months in 1966 of walking in silence through a lush moonlit forest. When I stopped and looked up, the trees would begin swaying back and forth together in a beautifully graceful and hypnotic fashion. I would then begin to sway with them.... in 66 i graduated high school. some time in the mid 80s i was camped out in a remote corner of forest park, out by st john's, portland oregon. walking the little trail to my campsite after dark, it was like that, the moon and the stars being the only light. my feet knew the trail so that on dark nights i didn't need even to see it at all. but when the moon was bright, it looked like that, looking up through the branches.
