Rodney King, the man who was beaten by four policemen who were later acquitted of assault charges, died yesterday. He was found at the bottom of a pool, drowned. There was no evidence of foul play. I remember seeing the video of the cops beating King, and I thought; there is no way those cops needed to beat King like that. No way. When the cops went on trial, I tried to imagine myself on the jury, and some way a defense lawyer could convince me that the beating was anything but deadly assault. I couldn't think of anything a lawyer could say, or do, to convince me that the video wasn't telling the more truthful story. All that being said, Rodney King was no saint. If he happened to sit next to me on a park bench, I'd probably get up and move. But no one deserves a pointless beating, especially by those assigned to protect us.
They man has been a heavy drug user for years (in and out of rehab) and has pretty much blown all the money he in the lawsuit so I am not surprised.
The coroner’s report will show that Rodney King died from massive intra cranial bleeding. The embolism which burst causing the subdural hematoma originally formed back in 1991 but lay dormant until this week. The LAPD beat him death and never even realized it until today Hotwater
Black people.. or well people in general get beat down by the cops for no reason all the time.. never understood why he was the important one
