Has anybody here thought about learning similar Latin based languages (such as Spanish, French and Italian) and speaking them all together at the same time? Yes, I could see how this would get confusing, but I think it would be pretty damn cool if both people speaking knew those languages and could freely use different words from each language all mixed up. Would this be a fun idea, or am I just getting those really tired early morning stupid ideas?

im australian living in mexico...i have such a difficult time learning spanish...not that the words are that hard but its stringing them together in sentances that i find difficult.....but yeah.....often i find myself talking in what we call "spinglish"...like broken spanish mixed with english....languages are fascinating as they to a digree format consciousness....like the spanish language has less words than english to express ones self.....so hence you tend to talk faster to cover the ground. in fact most spanish speakers including naturals....who are bilingual say they prefure english as it is more descriptive and streemlined.....just a thought...i think a mixed language is a great concept....im half way there with my spinglish..lol

learning as many languages as possible is one of the things i say i would do if i could do it all over again.now the fact remains that i came as close to failing spanish as i could when i was in school (and i cheated on a few tests) so i dont know if its practical but i still want to get a rosetta stone so i can listen to all the convos by the mexicans at work. ahhh maybe next month.

Well, if u know 2 languages u can already mix them in one sentence, it's not that funny. I speak all three languages u mentionned (+ english obviously), i could use them all in one sentence, but i'm not sure anyone would find it cool for more than one second...

Hmmm maybe I worded that a little bit strangely, I was suggesting it more on the lines of a "WHAT THE FUCK ARE THOSE DUDES SAYING?" if they happened to know one of the languages you were speaking. Sort of like a code thingy.

I've considerd learning Latin just to be able to at least slightly understand multiple latin based languages, because the little bit I do know already helps. I hadn't thought of your idea, but if I knew Latin, I definitely would've.

Language to a large degree defines relative consciousness…..so learning as many languages as you can would be a good idea…but you know I do not think I have even got a good grip on English..i certainly make allot of mistakes both grammatically and socially.

Does sound pretty interesting, even if I'm still trying to learn Spanish, but hey! At least I'm trying.

My husband and I speak seven languages if we count his and mine. When we're talking, we mix and match four of them all the time. Two of them are Latin languages and two of them aren't. I love it. It's our own dialect.
