I think it got moved to West Virginia. It used to be in NC but last year there was a lot of trouble with the ALE and they had to move it. Sucks, too, Van Hoy Farms is such a great venue! Check www.smilefest.com, they know more than I, hehe...
I'm good friends with jdub, who is one of the higher ups in the Smilefest Organization... jdub lives less than five minutes from my house...so I say this on pretty good authority... Preparations for Smilefest 2005 are under way, but no details have been finalized as of yet. Smilin Bob and his crew are working to put the details together. As DiffKettle mentioned, there were troubles with the last two Smilefests, but that's a reflection of the ALE in NC and not of Smilefest. A different venue is being planned, as well as a good collection of regional and international acts. I didn't think I would go back... But I'm looking forward to Smilefest 11... And that surprises me in a good way...
