False PSE&G representative

So last year around this time my family's PSE&G bill was uncharacteristically pricey. PSE&G is our energy company and we have been with them ever since we moved in 12 years ago. So some random dude that looked like he worked for the electric company comes to our door and requests our bill to make sure there isn't a charge on it. There was also a problem with our box, so he said. It turns out that when he got the info from our bill, our energy company was switched. We realized that ANOTHER weird looking company was charging us for our electricity use!

We got it switched back of course. But today, someone from 'PSE&G' comes looking for our bill. We scared the bitchy rep off from our property! Isn't this illegal activity? I feel like impersonating a company and getting a strangers bill is soliciting and fraud.

The trippy part of my story is that when the door bell rang, I felt through my whole body a sense of alertness and nervousness on the other side of the door. The whole ordeal felt like it was a bad trip
