The first class action lawsuit in Canadian history to name as co-defendants the Vatican, the Crown of England, Canada and its churches, and big pharmaceutical companies, all of which are accused of crimes against humanity and criminal conspiracy.

The lawsuit is brought by Jason Bowman of the ACP and Rev. Kevin Annett of the ITCCS, on behalf of a group of many others.

"Victims of church, state and big pharma are finally uniting to put an end to their terror" said Kevin Annett today.

"Among other plaintiffs in our class action will be survivors of Canada's genocide against native people, who have never had their day in court. The whitewash is over. More than 50,000 murdered children will finally be confronting Canada and the Catholic, Anglican and United Church, and placing them all on trial".

Seems like it won't go far due to the mingling of issues in the lawsuit. I don't quite see the tie in between the churches, government and big pharma.

If you reach too high you will fall flat on your face.

The tie in for the Church and Government are clear.
And it's absolutely the right thing to demand.

The big phrama one, I agree is not as tied in and might be overreaching.
As the article explains, the big pharma part is about those who have been wronged by anti-pot laws.

Which is a clear collaboration between Big Pharma and the government... If you can prove it. Proving that will be the hard part. (or at least it would be in the US)

Yes, you are right. And since RCMP is also government and bust people who have the legal papers to grow and what not.

I still think it may be overreaching to have included it with church abuse / residential school and government issues.

I think this would have been better broken down into many lawsuits, but they're most likely doing it this way to get people to take notice of these issues, not with the idea that they'll actually win.

I hope they get coverage. As of right now there are no major news sources covering this, and their website looks a little shady and cheap.

One of the best things I've heard in a while. Even if it does reach far & fall short, it's out there now, & any suit after it will seem more "realstic", like haggling.

    Thanks for sharing.

Because they're all guilty in the same context.

And while they might get a "sorry aboot that" from the church, without bringing it ALL under one roof, they wouldn't get crap from anyone, really.

Hope they do well. Until very recently there was genocide being committed against the canadian natives, even by the government. And then they said "oh sorry, you can have all this unoccupied land that's really yours, to forget about it".

My government signed a bunch of those too..... they just broke them.

Canada's geography made it harder to murder them all before modern times, so they pulled the residential school trick.

As for the US, I think there are still reparations being paid out..... and all sorts of things like special casino permits.

its not actually "the Canadians"....its the Native First Peoples

economy?...they could care less...its just a lawsuit to get more cash from the taxpayers...based on some type of "reparations" that they feel entitled to because their great great grandfather was touched by a priest...

:juggle:If you move money around enough you can easily grab a few dollars here and there. At least the act of moving money could maybe be considered an honest living if you have an almighty power to forgive you when the shit really hits the fan.

    Pat Robertson's Pot Billboard
By The Huffington Post Colorado July 16, 2012
The Campaign to Regulate Marijuana Like Alcohol has launched a new billboard promoting Colorado's marijuana legalization initiative, Amendment 64 -- this time featuring conservative evangelist icon Pat Robertson. The digital billboard, located on the I-70 Business Loop just west of Main Street in Grand Junction, Colo., features an image of Robertson and reads: "Pat Robertson would vote YES on 64. Will you?"
