I have been able to somewhat lucid dream, in the since that I can kinda dream about what I want but not control it once it starts. Any tips?

randomly look at your hand throughout the day and say aloud "Am I dreaming?"
if your hand looks any different, than you are dreaming, and can usually take control. It may take weeks of doing it in real life to dream about it. Also maybe try Vervain or another herb which enhances the dream state.

Start journaling your dreams, it will make you remember them easier. With remembering them will come the ability to catch dream signs and become lucid middream.

That way unfortunately takes weeks to months to start working and a long time to master, so there are other alternatives.

One way is to fall right into a lucid dream.. to do this you need to lie (on your back is usually easiest) and close your eyes and be as still as possible. Ignore all itches and urges to move, this will make your body think it is asleep. Then after about 20 minutes you should feel a weight on your body (the sleep paralysis setting in) and start to see images and/or hear things. Be careful not to let this scare you into waking up. Eventually you should enter a dream state were you are completely conscious (because you stayed conscious the whole time you were falling asleep). The hardest part for me is remaining conscious during the last few minutes before dreaming.

    I hope this helps!

well yeah...they both said exactly what i was going to.
oh and then the fun part, try to wake yourself up once you know your dreaming.

This is one of the biggest things that has helped me start lucid dreaming. It has taken me years to successfully lucid dream. I take some different sleep aids, which seem to make me more able to lucid dream. Also the dream herb has helped me immensely.

I get pretty lucid dreams on the rare occasions when I take melatonin.
You could give that a try.

I hate the combination of melatonin and Valerian root. It has always kept me awake all night and restless and crawling out of my skin.

Melatonin has never done anything of that sort for me other than zonk me out for hours. But you can definitely try it.

Melatonin alone has never affected me much. I would give it a try.

Yeah man! I love Vervain! AKA The tears of Juno. It makes me very artsy and I always remember my dreams on it.

I would definitely try it if I were you. Drugs and chemicals affect different people differently, that's just the way it is.
