This is great. This guy was set free, after spending 657 days locked up. Previously, each time he was set free, the authorities lay in wait outside the prison gates just to arrest him again, repeatedly. Finally, they changed their policy, and for the first time in years, he gets to go visit his kids. Go, naked guy. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-tayside-central-18873631
Go him man. The laws preventing nudity in public are absurd, it's like people have forgotten we are all animals after all, all guys have a penis and all chicks have a set of tits and a vagina, i know this, you know this, we all know this - so what's the big deal?
Amen. This is a completely looked-over fact that affects far too many aspects of our daily "free" lives.
Stigmatizing nudity, and our own pre-concept of the naked body, by severe prohibition and condemnation of nakedness simply sets us up for a reverse-dynamic, in having an inner taboo which we tend to rail against, since it goes against our nature. It is natural to have a body, and to facilitate shame by demonizing it doesn't help. It just makes the taboo all the more enticing. It's a real sexual turn-on when you're doing something or even thinking something that's a social "taboo", since it plays into our innate sense of freedom, and the right of every man and woman to be free. On the other hand, there are still those who tend to think "evil thoughts" when they see a naked body, and ironically, this group is probably led by the ultra-religious, who attribute evil to the human body and it's shapes and uses. Sometimes, for their sakes (those poor, pitiful religious types), we must be tolerant and put on something to cover up our "sin". And then, there are those of us who just aren't very pretty when uncovered. So,,I guess you have to be flexible. But I suspect that this "naked rambler" is not unfit to show off his parts. It's the rest of us that may be unfit to view them.
released from prison on tuesday and arrested again on friday, what a bloody shame, all he got was three days of freedom and now hes still not going to get to see his kids. whats wrong with this fucking country to constantly jail a man for standing up for his principles and just being himself! who in this world hasnt seen a penis for fucks sake! could understand the arrest if he was going around jumping out from behind bushes and waggling it at young girls and old biddies from the wi, that then would be a public order offence, but just walking and minding his own business!! people dont have to look if they dont want to!!! you get less time in prison for assault and rape and that is something that does affect peoples lives, but this........he just wants to be left alone to do what he wants to do, hes harming no-one!! http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-edinburgh-east-fife-18931494
i didnt read the whole story but why doesnt this guy just put clothes on? whats worse having to wear clothes or being in jail? Pretty sure id rather wear clothes and see kids like a few of you have said he gets to do wen not in jail.. I know hes trying to be "free spirited" and all but come on
Why do people stand up against any unjust law or regulation? I'm glad that he didn't cave, that would have made everything he did a waste, and made him sure to be arrested when he got outside naked next time, as he obviously would at some point. He asserted his right, and the cops literally admitted that the law was unjust and that discretion should be used. Wouldn't work in the US, but I'm glad that he did what he did, where hi did.
I wouldnt go naked in Scotland though, definate shrinkage issues, which is probably why he moved to sunny Perth to do it
It's not right, this one individual ( who you don't if he is weirdo or not) I'm sure most of you wouldn't be happy, if people started stripping off in front of your kids. I know I wouldn't . It's generally accepted that as a society, we wear clothes in public. There parks and beaches that cater for nudity. No one out for the day, should be made to feel uncomfortable or having to explain to thier kids why some Jesus looking freak is naked.
i can see what youre saying except children dont have a problem with nudity or see anything wrong, its repressed adults that see it as wrong. those with children know just how often kids will discard their clothes and run around naked both at home and in public. its only as they get older and certain adults see it as wrong that theyre chastised and told to cover up. i think if there was more nudity in our societies then things would change for the better. after all what is more natural than nakedness, it breaks down all barriers and we are then all the same. people are often judged by how they dress, the clothes they wear, designer or thrift shop, accesssories expensive or cheap, know what i mean, but without clothes we are all the same.
to add further to my post above........ do tribal cultures and people have a problem with nakedness? of course not, its natural for them. think back to the beginning of the hippie culture when we shed our clothes and wore flowers in our hair, was there really a problem with that? only with those who saw us taking our freedom back. trouble is people associate nakedness with sex and it really isnt that at all, its what theyve been led to associate it with. nakedness is natural, clothes started to be worn because of weather as a means to keep warm, or to protect the body not because of any notion of nakedness being wrong. rant over, thats my two pennyworth.
to answer another point here that i forgot to include in my other posts........... your last sentence there, what a perfect time for parents to be able to talk to their children and to point out that there is nothing to be ashamed about with a naked human body, it just might stop some of those kids having hangups with their own bodies in the future as so many are now having issues with that and affecting their lives. by the way, this man is not intending to walk around heavily populated towns, hes taking side roads and just enjoying the walk and the freedom, or he would be if he was allowed to, and he doesnt look like a jesus freak to me, hes just a bloke thats all excersing his right to stand by his principles no matter what and i take my hat off to him. dont think i would have the same courage if im completely honest after whats hes gone through.
Man.. i truly wonder what it's like to be in your head. By "it" do you mean nudity? Please, explain to me how being your most natural, human self is "wrong". I would be fucking ecstatic if people starting stripping down in public. Kids are the only ones I see who strip down in public, why not adults? Why would you not want to see that, people being themselves to their utmost capabilities, instead of being forced to conform and wear clothes? Personally I'd like to have the option. And no one is making you feel uncomfortable, if you don't like it don't look, and if you genuinely feel uncomfortable when you see a naked person I feel truly truly sorry for you, because the Human body is a beautiful thing and it is seldom seen these days. And to call this man a "Jesus looking freak" for that you deserve a big Fuck You!
[The news article attached in the link says "Perth Prison" and "Tayside police" both in Scotland, and the nude man in question is from "Eastleigh in Hampshire" {England}... so from me no idea how he earned the moniker "aussie naked rambler"] Some people are as nuts as this guy on this one. The guy chose his cause over his kids, went 657 days without seeing them... there's a screw loose somewhere with this guy. There are nudist communities, nudity allowed areas, or you could even find friends with similar interests to practice nudity in the privacy of your/their own home. It is 100% inconsiderate of the rest of the people who wear clothes like normal human beings in civilized society to subject them to have to see 'what you're packing.' Well sounds like I'll be pretty easy to spot next time I go out; 90% of the people on this thread agree with "The Aussie Naked Rambler." You'll recognize me as the one wearing clothes!!!
It's not right end of story. We have places they can go to if they wanna walk around naked. Why should parents have to feel akward And explain to thier kids Why some perv has no clothes on. Public places and the queens highway is of limits. He has been arrested Abd jailed for it, he still continues do it. Another point he is a man, therefore he will get urges like most men do, and if he sees a nice looking girl and gets a hardon you gonna tell me that's perfectly acceptable , explain that to some kid. Im 17 and get a boner about 8 times a day lol
