^This is not a liberal forum, I've met plenty of libertarians here. You're the moron. Liberals invented weed? stfu, Marijuana is a plant closely related to Hops, and it would be here with or without Liberals. You're just pissing in the wind, expecting a BIG mother-government who tends to everyone's needs, and is actually fair internationally. That will NEVER happen; the bigger our government, the worse off we are. Thomas Jefferson knew that. "I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them."-Thomas Jefferson "The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government."-Thomas Jefferson Ban guns and make the government bigger, see what happens...
By definition, socialism is a solution to poverty, and capitalism creates poverty, but when it comes to government and economy, it's pretty irrelevant. They're all subject to corruption, and how well or poorly they work is based on how corrupt they are. I could sit here and rave all day about how amazing capitalism would be if there were real regulations that were actually being enforced. As liberal as I am, I understand the importance of big business. There are things that large corporations are capable of that small organizations and individuals simply aren't capable of, but there's almost zero transparency in how these companies operate and if there's no accountability from a greater authority (the government), companies will do whatever they can to make money (the point of a business is to make money, period) and a lot of these methods are negative to society. Not to mention that America has become a de facto tyranny because of big business. Because of mass media, campaigning has become so unaffordable that politicians are turning towards big companies for money to win, and that money comes with big strings. Now when EVERYONE is getting their money from the same place and all of those deals have the exact same strings attached to it as the others do, what's really gonna change? The faces change, but the same fat cats on Wall Street still have full control because no matter who wins, they get what they want. I think the best measure of how great a government is is how resistant it is to corruption. At this point, we're just picking our poison; do we want big business to corrupt our government, or do we want to hand all the money to the government and let it corrupt itself? At least with socialism, there's a HOPE that something will ever change. Unchecked capitalism has made our "democracy" a joke.
More con propaganda machine. All you've got is lies, because the true condemns you. For the record, your lying is just like the moron that said that Hitler wasn't a right wing fascist. He calls Hitler a socialist, to try to hide the truth, in order to deflect attention from the guilt of your stupid fascist ideology. The GOP. You are exposed as the liars that you are.
I hate to be the one to tell you this (well, not really), but your post asserted nothing, and it rebutted nothing. It was nothing but a lot of un-con-troll-ed emotion. Leave it to you to fight the facts with the only weapon you find at your disposal--anger. You have a real problem with that, don't you?
Hm, that's an interesting point. I guess that means our government sucks... oh but I knew that already. :sunny:
What is required is wealth Creation, not wealth redistribution. all of the gate-keepers and toll-takers of the paternalistic state cannot create wealth.
This all comes down to the intention of the state, which comes down to how effectively the state can be reigned in by the people, which comes down to the people's level of participation in government.
