I'm not quite sure I see the connection between ignorance of Roman numerology and Britishness. Oh, and by the way ... it's written with a capital B :mickey:
I think that when people type it they generally use a capital i (II) and not two ones 11. Then again I knew what you meant. people around here like to joke and kid around. Sorry I must have responded from the first page. I see several people already said the same thing.
Hahahaha this thread is full of win. Calling us retards was a bit premature... seeing as you were the one in fault here, Boydamien.
i dont think any americans were implying that and meant no disrespect to other countries, the people that said you must be brittish were only replying as a joke to the OP who said "you must be american" in a way that implied that americans didnt understand....well he wasnt using roman numerals...honestly i dont know what kind of numbers they were because in every country i know, that would have been a number 11.
i'm pretty sure he was also joking at the OP, who had said "you must be american" to the person who actually understood roman numerals.
The part of confusing ww II with world war 11(2) is as silly as saying that they can not use 911 for an emergency number (USA) because there is no 11 on a phone dial . There were a few people saying this . OK maby they were stupid people . desert rat
Roman numbers: I = One, II = Two. XI = Eleven. Our numbers: 1 = One, 2 = Two. 11 = Eleven. World War II = World War Two. World War 11 = World War Eleven. Case Closed.
.......and already we're onto page IV and this is post numerus XXXX! [quidquid Latine dictum sit altum videture]
