The reason I ask is that I'd like to know how long it takes you.

For me, when my alarm goes off I get up and stop by the bathroom quickly, then head to the kitchen to make coffee. After it brews, I clean up the pot and put it in the dish drainer. When I get to my desk to start drinking coffee, 20 minutes have passed since the alarm went off.

What am I doing wrong? Does it take everyone else that long to get their first sip of coffee at home?

Nah, I'll make it sometimes and totally forget about it.

Get yourself a coffeemaker with a timer and set it for 10 minutes before your alarm.
Set it all up before you go to bed and when you wake a fresh pot will be waiting. :)

I am pretty similar. Get up, put the jug on, boil it, put the coffee in the plunger, pour the water over - yep usually by the time I have the first sip 20 mins have passed.

First sip makes it all worth it, though. :D

    Goood morning,

perhaps you can optimise the process? I wake up, grab my glasses, run into the kitchen, fire up the coffee maker, then I run into the bath and on my way back I can steal the first mug of coffee from the coffee maker while it is still working. In an emergency I would eat the coffee beans ;).

    Regards

The problem with that is that though they're easily available and cheap, all of those that I've seen are drip machines, and drip coffee, with very nearly NO exceptions, sucks donkey balls..... If you know of something with a reasonable price, that makes coffee similar to a bialetti with a timer, PLEASE tell me about it.....

Usually takes me between 4 and 15 mins to be drinking it. Or like 20 if I use my stovetop maker, which I like, but it needs a new gasket.

This is another reason why I drink iced coffee all the time. I can make it in advance and refrigerate it and voila! Anytime I want it it is just a matter of opening the refrigerator. Oh well, that is just me. I just don't like to wait for my coffee.

I tried to really not waste a second this morning and was drinking it in just under 10 minutes. I guess maybe I don't like moving that fast normally.

I get up at 5:30, make my basic stops, go down stairs to make a pot of coffee for my wife, and a cup of espresso for me. While they brew I walk the dogs. I think the brew for a 10 cup pot takes about 10 min the espresso about 5. This includes grinding the coffee for both. Most days I am walking from 6:00 to 6:30 so the brew time is not an issue for me. My body is adjusted to coffee when I come in from the walk, and hell or dogs ready for breakfast will not get in my way LOL. I think if you time is stretched you need an automatic pot. It will be ready when you get up, or take what is remaining and put it in the refrigerator than warm it up for in a microwave for a quick fix. That would take just one Min.
