Is it wrong to set up camp away from the grounds but come in and use the showers n fresh water? is there any places like this in BRITISH COLUMBIA that can be easily done?
I don't see anything wrong with using the water and showers and facilities if you are camping away from the actual campgrounds. Don't know of any in BC, never been there. Around here (Ohio) a lot of State camping areas that have lakes and such often have public shower areas to clean the muck off you after a dip in the lake. Sometimes I have seen at State camping areas that they sell "passes" for the showers if you are camping in the non electric "primitive" sites. I never buy them and go use them around dark time. I've never been asked if I had a shower pass. Act like you belong there and know what you are doing and people generally will leave you alone to do your business. . . . ~peace
Hmmmm, if you use the facilities that other on-camp member have to pay for then I guess some would say that's a bit naughty. IDK if charges are incurred but presume they are.
Yeah - As long as you pay and avoid peak use times so people at the site get first choice, it should be cool.
Shouldnt be a problem as long as you dont get caught. It is usually easier to get forgivness than permission.....
another thing you need to take into consideration.. are you trying to camp at a campground that does not offer such amenities and want to jump to the other campground? or are you gonna just try camping outside of the designated camp area? because that can be illegal if you do not have landowners permission
I think its ok as long as your cool about it. Be respectful, let the others that truly have the right to go first..
As someone who workcamps? No, it's not okay! The campground has costs for the water and maintaining the facilities. If you truly can't afford it, go to the office and see if there's wood you can stack or trash to pick up or something that you can swap for a shower, but don't just come in, use stuff, and leave. That's not cool!
