I have read on several websites that Benadryl is supposedly stronger than Dramamine. However, I have a hard time believing this. I have taken 20 Dramamine pills and I was having full blown hallucinations, smoking cigarettes that were not there, talking to people who didnt exist, the whole works. But I have also taken 40 Benadryls (the pink and white capsules) and the most i got out of it was heavyness, them little flashes of white that dance around and little tiny stuff out of the corner of my eye. No major hallucinations at all. Unless I was hallucinating a chip crumb on my rug, it was rather boring. So my question is, which is supposed to be stronger? Is benadryl actually stronger than dramamine and the reason i didnt get as fucked up was because the benadryl came in caps and the dramamine i broke each pill in half breaking the time release? Any help is appreciated. I know deliriants arent exactly desirable but im hoping someone can explain why the weaker of the 2 fucked me up more than the supposedly stronger drug.
Its diphenhydramine vs dimenhydrinate. Benadryl vs dramamine. "Chemically, dimenhydrinate is a salt of two drugs: diphenhydramine, and 8-chlorotheophylline, a chlorinated derivative of theophylline." They both do about the same thing to me. I dunno. Sometimes those drugs just don't work too, even if u use the same one each time. I have had that happen a few times.
"The effects of dimenhydrinate are very similar to those of diphenhydramine. The main differences are a lower potency, and a longer latency. 50 mg dimenhydrinate contains 27.2 mg of diphenhydramine, so it is less potent at equal doses. Also, dimenhydrinate must dissociate into diphenhydramine and its counterion in the body before it is active, so it produces effects more slowly than diphenhydramine." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dimenhydrinate eace:
