i feel i am feeding the monster. i now will be more vigilant of spammers. this thread has woken from the dead better than lazerous. while it is good to get the word out there i think posting on 6 year old threads isnot getting the word to the person who asked in the first place.

Nudism to me means I prefer to be naked. That applies whether in social situations or alone, out in the world or home in my apartment.

For me 99% of my nudism is me simply doing my thing at home with no clothes on.

Same here, but I love the opportunities at the nudist campground for swimming, weight room, volleyball, other sports, meeting kindred spirits. My favorite place even has a hiking trail. It's a lot more fun to go to the nude beach with a bunch of friends than solo. Some of my solo nude adventures have been deeply spiritual, but it's not like I have to choose between solo or social. I want both!

for me it's all about being home and naked in my house - not really an exhibitionist or a formal nudist.....I just like being extra naked at home as much as possible. And OH BTW....today is Naked Sunday....the day I try to stay extra naked all day. My term for it is MAREBAREISM.

When I was in university I had a friend I admired quite a bit. He was the most singular person I've ever met. He observed Naked Sunday most devoutly. If you visited him on Sunday.....well, I got a very good education in the anatomy of a 60+ year old gentleman. R.I.P. Lord John Harrison

When I was in college, we had a communal shower down the hall instead of in each room.
One of the guys used to walk totally naked from his room to the shower and stop and talk with lots of us along the way. He was not an exhibitionist, but he did like challenging our preconceptions and this was one of many things he liked to do to rattle our cages.

He is not necessarily a nudist, but certainly comfortable in his skin!

It could be, when I am home I am nude, however if you mean walking from your bedroom to the shower and then back to get dressed I wouldn’t call that nudism

    Hey Emma-
My "answer" is "embedded" in several of the previous responses, but I have some time and decided to have a go at it.

There's an introductory disclaimer: this is not a binary, me right - them wrong thing, where my views differ. If someone's definition of a nudist is having owned more than one Chevrolet pickup truck, hey, go for it!

Mine goes like this: I use the broadest definition. To me a nudist is someone who enjoys being nude just "because", is aware of it, and chooses to be nude somewhere, sometime, where most would be dressed. The rest is all optional: indoors, outdoors, alone, with family or friends, a "public" "nude" beach... You get the idea. I've done it all over the decades, and would again if the opportunity happened along.

Exhibitionism is complicated, maybe. Apart from the genuine psychosis of the sexual thrill of surprising strangers etc., the rest of us I think experience varying degrees of a continuum from tolerance through comfort to enjoyment of being seen nude by others. I think one person can "evolve" in that progression over time, but also experience the different emotions in a short span of time, depending on circumstances. But your comfort, or lack of same, with being nude around others doesn't for me define being a nudist. It's just one of the many variables about what kind of a person you are in general, just as enjoying being nude is only one part of you.

Oops! Do I feel silly ... I saw the recent posts and assumed that this was "current"! Didn't realize I'd jumped twelve years backwards!

But hopefully the ideas are timeless enough that someone will gain insight...
Especially since the "What is- Am I" questions never really go away, right,?
