My parents said I could have a pet for Christmas...but, I can't decide if I want a cat or a dog! I love both!!! lol.

A dog would be fun because they're so happy and hyper. And I could take it on a walk and stuff.

But...kitties are so much more cuddly and cute.

So...I was wondering if you guys could give me the pros/cons of both! I want a pet that would be very affectionate and cuddle with me! HELP!!!

Well, I'm a cat person, so I'm gonna say cat. Dogs are just too excitable to me.

I'm a dog kinda guy (got 6 of them) I think you just can't beat the affection and loyalty of a dog. Shi-Tzu is a great breed, not too hyper pretty easy to train and if you want a buddy this is the dog to get. I would advise against terriers cuz they tend to be a bit high strung and can be hard to train if you are a novice.

I suggest you rescue one from a shelter, and if I were you I would just go on down to the shelter and take a look. Odds are you will find an animal you have a connection with and that will be the one you decide to take home.

    Both great pets!

want a dog, be prepeared to spend most of your free time, playin, training, walking, and going outside alot. I personally wouldnt recomend a small dog because there need for attention, also barking and potty trining is way harder.
If your the type of person who can dedicate alot of time, than yes a dog would be great. However, you cant just leave when you want to without letting the dog out and getting him/her situated in its kennel. I know for me we havent gone to a hotel or a night away because we have the dog to think about and cant leave it alone for hrs on end. Not to mention overnight anywhere.
If your parents are willing to help out though you def have an advantage.

Cats however in my opinion are better as far as leaving alone. They dont really care much about ALL of the attention, and eat and drink and go to the bathroom on their own. All you have to do is change their litter box, heck they dont even need training. Always by you when you need them and sleep
with you at night. Whenever im sad my cats come and swarm around me, purring and always make me feel better. I of corse perfer cats to dogs, for alot of these reasons. We have 5 cats now and id have more if i could:)

Good luck, let us know what you decide:)
    hope i helped some:)

I would say Staffordshire Bullterrier. They usually are very kind with children, learn quite fast, not agressive, always joking, and even with their 40 cm very brave.
Have a look at some, best page to learn about them is the United Kingdom Kennel Club, the AKC, or other Clubs!
What ever you take, it should be symphatic to you, when you see it!
Here youve got some staffordshire links:

Awh, man. My parents never took me to the shelter. :( But, they PROMISED they'd take me next week! I think they were still deciding if they thought I was responsible enough to have a pet. So...I'll keep ya'll updated!!

Hey ya'll! I got a kittie! She's so cute! She's a domestic short hair, and she's about 8 months old. She has really pretty dark fur with blond, light brown, and red streaks in it. Her name is Clara, they named her that at the shelter & I don't want to change it, lol. :D
