Here I am, day two of dreadlocks! It took about three days to put them all in, with the husband doing all but four of them. They're two days old, a little itchy, but at least they no longer stand straight up. I love them!

We used backcombing and rip and twist. I have some rubber bands on the roots and ends which I'll probably take off in a few days. No wax, and I plan on using Dr. Bronner's. I also crocheted a wool pillow case. Any other tips are appreciated!

Sounds Like Ya Doing It Right, Please Allow Me To Welcome

    You To The Dready Forum...:).

I Came Up With The Idea Of The Pure Woollen Pillowcase 3 Years Ago, And

I'm Pleased To See So Many People Adopting It, Although You Are The First

    To Crochet One...:).

    Cheers Glen.

I think it's been two weeks and three days... They were really itchy for a while, but I showered with some peppermint Dr Bronner's which helped a ton. I'm pleased as punch with them. They've stopped being so frizzy, and several of them are feeling hard at the roots. There are 33 now, which I think is a good number.

I tried to put a couple of wool wraps in, but my hair kind of sucked them up? When I went to take them out, they didn't want to come out. Not sure why.

    Whhhat the fuuuuck....

It's been 2 weeks, and instead of falling out, your backcombs look well on the way to maturing.

I guess the technique used matched with your hair's natural locking tendencies.

If you mean you used each method on the same lock, maybe that's why.

I would wait until the locks mature before putting a wrap in. Your hair will go through a lot of changes...

Has it already been three months?! My goodness. I'm getting a bit fuzzy on the top, but still no loops. And excuse the expression - morning is not kind.

On Thursday I'm seeing my dad for the first time in a year, and I'm a bit anxious about his opinion. He's probably going to be a jerk - wait until he realizes I'm a vegan!

Oh, and my skeleton drawing managed to sneak in there.

Loops don't tend to come out much with backcomb, not until 6+ months and when they do they're not as crazy as neglect or plain twist and rip loopies.

    Looking good thoughhhhhhhhh lady
