Was he from the lost city Atlantis? If not who was he and why do a lot of cultures all worship a white man
All I remember about this white beard mayan god, is that he just showed up one day and taught the mayan's all kinds of cool stuff, he had a misshapen head(elongated) and he left on a boat by himself, vowing to return someday.
Yeah I heard the same and that he might of been from Atlantis how plato describes it. I'm just amazed how he or who ever he was able to teach all that science math and other technologys in a short time
According to wiki; The mormons believe Quetzalcoatl, as a white, bearded god who came down from the sky was in actuality jesus christ who chose to visit the natives after his resurrection Personally I like the mayan version of Q because it makes for better theatre https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9bjsag2vYlQ"]YouTube - Q: The Winged Serpent (1982) - Trailer Hotwater
i been doing some research over the year. and it happens to be that the knights templar secretly travel to the Americas. that Might explain the red cross with the white man having beard
The Mayans in NW Guatemala worship a god named Maximon (pronounced: Mashy Moan). He is an idol made of wood. Each village has their own version of Maximon. He either is a White Man or a Black Man - just depends on the village. The Mayans pray to him and in order for their prayers to be heard he must be offered liquor, cigarettes, money and then candles must be purchased and lit. When the worshiper goes to pray he must make all these offerings and light the candles and the family in charge of housing the idol god assists with pots of burning incense being waved to fill the room with a wonderful smell. A Caretaker then pours the liquor down his mouth hole and lights the cigarette and places it in his mouth hole and of course the sponsoring family takes the money (they also get the leftover booze and cigs). The candles are placed in positions representing the 4 winds North & South / East & West and according to the way the liquor goes down, the direction the cigarette smoke blows and the way candles burn they will tell the supplicant whether their prayer will be answered. And the very best part.....you can pray for anything, good or evil / assistence or revenge.. I've gone and brought the offerings and made my prayer known.....and I was granted my prayer...... I don't know how or why the Mayans came to worship this foreign image but maybe it was as the mormons believe the resurrection of Jesus.....who can tell? but that paints a very different picture of Jesus than we've been lead to believe!!
dude why is everyone commenting about mormans? their religion is obviously fake as hell. but it is strange that cortez came to the mayans the same year that the white god was supposed to come. when the white god left he told the mayans he'd come back on a raft of snakes. (probly referring to cortez) there's some crazy stuff in history my friends
