Personally, the more I simplify my life, the happier and more care free I become. Sent from my DROIDX using Tapatalk 2
You are not on Earth to enjoy life. You are here to help your species survive. Before civilisation you would have to hunt to survive. Now you have to work to survive. It wasn't easy then, isn't easy now. It is not like you would sit in forest and magically everything would be so great so you can enjoy your life.
There is no point. Life has no meaning whatsoever except for the meaning that YOU give it. Start giving it meaning. Now.
By who's rationale is the goal of life to ensure the continuation of the species as such?.I am not even sure I am of the same species as some humans. It may even be better for the planet if humanity just disappeared. The opening poster is questioning and searching for a better explanation and way out of this hell. The goal of life should be to enjoy. But real enjoyment is a very limited possibility in 1st World patriarchal techno-capitalism.Aren't we all just so sick and tired of it? I know I am.Food, water, housing and healthcare should be provided to everyone as a basic birthright, unconditionally. We have enough material infrastructure and intellectual knowledge base to provide this.Everyone would feel a lot better if society wasn't so obsessed with money, power and questionable notions of Wordly "Success".This obsession arises because of insecurity.Nobody should feel insecure. There would be less violence and hate in the World if we adopted a better way of life for everyone.I choose not to participate as much as possible because I just can't stand it anymore.I know I am useless and surplus to the requirements of this society. You all get on with it if you want to...I don't want to know.
Not by any rationale, but we are certainly hard wired to really, REALLY enjoy the process While I can agree with your sentiment about the condition of society, I don't like the idea of everyone being given the basics of life. That would mean someone has to control those resources, which is too much control for one group to have. I would rather see those resources be left free and un-regulated to individuals and families, not corporations and lawyers. Sent from my DROIDX using Tapatalk 2
By means of "mutual co-operation" it would be possible to distribute people's basic needs without the need for "corporations" and "lawyers".Some regulation will always be necessary, and some planning.I don't pretend to have all the answers,I just know that human culture needs to change, pretty please.
But they are already controlled! By money and government. Everyone has a right to have the basics in life, but people take it too far, its no longer basic instead its complex and thorough. And whilst one man is being allowed access to free healthcare another man somewhere is dying because they just cant afford it. That's our problem, people are too caught up in wanting things and greed that they forget that other people, their brothers and sisters of the human species, dont want but NEED. I just fail to see equality which is what this world needs. Mankind as a whole will never live in a happy sustainable world until our resources are shared equally, we have enough resources for this to happen but for some reason we choose to cram them into a few countries, creating obese nations on one side of the world and poverty ridden nations on the other where people are physically starving to death.
Um... Mother nature? You should run some DNA tests... but yes if you don't look like human you probably aren't. Of course it would. But we are not here to take care about the planet. We are here to take care about ourselves. On second thought, I think that planet doesn't give a fuck... There is no 'better' or 'worse' for planet. There is better or worse for us. Why? Yep. We will be always limited if we want to be civilised. Umm... why? If someone owns all of this, he wants to make profit. Secondly, how do you want to do that? You want people to be working for no reward? Yep, but that won't happen. It is utopian vision. And in every utopy there has to be one motherfucker who will fuck things up.
Secondly, how do you want to do that? You want people to be working for no reward? Okay this is where weve fucked up.... The idea that in order to have these luxuries, which are also basics, we need to work and they are our reward. I don't think so, food in your belly should be no reward... Back in the days where people would hunt for their food was good, they worked together as a tribe in order to feed the whole tribe. We right now, work only for ourselves and our small families, we don't work to provide for the whole tribe (in this case, the human spiecies). We are selfish and greedy, on a whole. And what about those who put in a lot of work but get very little reward? What about farmers who work constantly, but then their crops don't grow, what's their reward? The world of work is wrong. We were not born to work, we were not born to be skivvy to some higher authority because in reality they don't exist, they are self proclaimed, no one is better, no one is worse. Numbers above our heads though, make it seem like we have to be better. I'm not saying everyone should just stop working and hope for the best, but unless something is done then the poor will only get poorer and the rich will only get richer, the divide is rapidly growing when it just shouldn't be there at all.
Why do you think you have RIGHT to eat? It is not your right, it is your need. And you have to satisfy this need in a way or another. No one will do that for you. And our country. Ignoring part in which it steals from us and lies to us, but I believe in tribes it isn't perfect either. We pay taxes... And human specie is not one huge tribe, not yet. It might be soon, but now we are divided into small tribes. ( countries ) Always were, always will be. They are screwed. But they have SOME reward. They know that if they will work hard, they will get something in reward. So you basically want to sit on your ass and have everything provided for free? Do you like to lie to yourself? Of course there are better and worse people. Some are born with diseases, some with great intelligence. Some can take care about themselves, other don't. There are always worse and better. And better tend to survive. I get your message. We are equal as people, but it doesn't translate into real life. If we will be worse we will die. What exactly? Thats the way world works. However some poor happen to become rich and some rich happen to become poor. Completly agree with that.
So you basically want to sit on your ass and have everything provided for free? And this is the one thing that gets to me....why isn't it free anyway? Why do we need to pay for our basic needs? Why can't we just have it? We weren't born to work, we are forced to. There is plenty enough to go around but because we have to work for it and earn it then it means people up top have too much and make it impossible for people down the bottom to have anything, to the point of starvation. In a group of animals, its very rare that some would have nothing and physically starve, they work together, but yet here we are with more than enough and thousands dying. Taxes don't really pay for much, they just fund more problems, some things they fund are good though so I partly agree with you there.. It's not the way the world works though, its the way humans (and as far as I can see, only humans) have learnt and accepted to work. What needs to be done? Destiny lies in the hands of the rich, if they were to listen to the needs of the world and think about the bigger picture, then they would have the money and the means to change it for the better. Now I do agree that if you work hard for something then you have earnt that, but its what people do with their earnings that is a problem. Personal wants seem to overcome general needs. I'm not saying that people shouldnt spend their earnings on nice things but when its spent excessively and pointlessly (fancy sports cars, 70 inch TVs, personal cinemas, crazy fucking rocket boots etcetc) then its a real problem.
Animals also die of starvation. Plus they don't get anything for free. They 'work' (hunt) for it. Some in groups, some alone, taking care only about their ass. What about ants or bees? Why do you want to tell someone what he should do with his money? He worked for that, now it is his decision what he will do with it. Also lot of rich people give some money for charities. Where is the line then? Should be there a law telling that you can't buy this, because it is too fancy? Plus those are their money. They can waste them however they want. And why is it excessive and pointless? Why does it have to have some greater point? It might be excessive for us, because we could live our whole life on what some guy spent on his car, but from his point of view it might just be a small expense.
A basic point is being missed here. "Why do we need to pay for our basic needs" - because somebody is providing them! No? Sure, on the whole there is enough food etc.to go round but it has to be planted, tended, harvested, transported etc.As I said before everything has a price. We live in a world that is governed by a market economy! The only answeris self sufficiency but that is a whole other thread!
I think this basic needs are not free for most because the system of society has caused a massive growth of populations since the time of big industrialisation. This is not a righteous excuse and also not the only reason of course but I think if there would be far less people it would be much much easier for everyone to choose to leave the costs of the system's basic needs behind and get them for free of the land yourself.
