i disagree. money used to make bombs and shit to kill people with would be better spent on helping people. the money spent to get to mars is a drop in the bucket compared to what is spent on war.

Yeah but they make tons more than necessary and lots end up on the black market, or inadvertently funneled into the hands of those that wish to use them against us. In some country's its easier to buy a us made grenade or land mine on the black market than to buy any firearm.

Because the human race is the last race in the universe that anyone wants living among them . After all our track record shows what a wonderful job we have done here as stewards of the earth . Man's inhumanity to man , poverty , war , death , greed , selfishness , ignorance , arrogance and on and on . Yup we show the universe our wonderful track record of human rights violations and genocides . Imagine what we would do to those not like us ? What a wonderful neighbor we would be . There is nothing redemable in man . Spend millions of dollars on high tech robots to mars while 3/4 of the earth still lives in abstract poverty and misery . And I promise you man will destroy himself long before any human ever lands on mars .
