So we all heard it before, Weed is a Gateway Drug to other drugs. If you smoke marijuana your gonna do other drugs. But how many of you actually believe it? I don't for a second. I have done other drugs, before and after I did weed. Weed never had an effect on it. I honestly believe its a load of horsesh*t they feed people to prevent them from trying it. Tell me what you guys think
I think it can be for some people. I have had no interest in doing any other drugs ever besides pot. I have smoke pot since high school and I never get bored with it, yea there are many times I like to take a break, but does not me I’m tired of it or want to try something ells
of course it is a gateway drug...so is nicotine and caffeine and jen...those pills are drugs...so you cant really say your only drug is weed the''gate'' has many paths on the other side...we dont all choose the same path and sometimes the gate takes decades to pass through till you move up or down the drug ladder and choose a path
I don't think weed is a gateway drug psychologically or physically as such, but the kind of people you hang out with when smoking or scoring may put you in within reach of harder drugs. So I think on a social level you have to be careful. This has been my experience anyway.
People who do drugs are gonna do drugs no matter what they try first. Pot is easy to get, and readily available to youngsters. It's the first thing available so that's why people try it first. Keep in mind the man who fist called "marihuana" a gateway drug. Mr. Harry J Anslinger. The same man who claimed "Marihuana" to cause more violence in its users than alcohol, heroin, and cocaine combined. He said it causes it's users to go on murderous rampages, killing innocent victims in their sleep. It causes black men to rape white women, etc. etc. The only reason it still holds up is because statistics show that most hard drug users try pot first. Which as I stated earlier is mostly because it's the most readily available drug for teenagers. When I was in high school I had a weed source long before I could get ahold I beer or cigarettes...
Yep I got into my parents liquor cabinet long before trying pot. It's only a gateway drug in the sense that pot dealers sometimes sell other things, so knowing them gives one the chance to try them.
Yeah, now I'm addicted to meth Seriously one of the stupidest theories I've ever heard to make it illegal
I was on my college campus the other day and there was a "Rise Above" convention. The main guy had a speech planned and this was almost word for word on what he said. "When you see that joint, its basically a gateway. You're going to smoke some, get that high. And then woah look over there, is that a pile of coke? Why not. You just stepped through your first gateway, and now that your high you cant think straight, you try some coke."
People dont need a gateway to drugs. People will go to any and all lengths for some drugs. The only reason anyone ever suggested the gateway theory was because they didnt have anything else to say against weed.
there may be a little truth to it, just because after hearing for your entire life how evil and addictive and life-destroying pot is, when you finally try it and find out that it was all a load of bullshit you then think that maybe the warnings against other drugs are also a load of bullshit. so i guess you could also say that lying about marijuana is a gateway drug.
honestly the govt is the one who made it a gateway drug, by making it illegal iv never went to the store to buy alcohol, and the cashier offers me other drugs so i vote yupp
This I believe it is human nature to seek out altered states.. If you look at history, one could ultimately come to the conclusion that human history is the story of moving from one mind altering substance to the next... be it sugar, rum, tobacco, marijuana, etc etc It is in our very nature to seek out and experience altered states of consciousness... Some for the better, some for worse... but at the end of the day I think it is somehow "wired" into us to explore these relatively unknown areas of human consciousness, if you will..
