Dang, it's like nobody reads any more. Ok, They made one of Varley's books into a movie. It's called Millennium, with Cheryl Ladd and Chris Christofferson.
    Anybody seen that one?

Wow! 330 views but nobody has read it. Ok, I''ll give a teaser.
It's about a female spaceship commander exploring uncharted space. She finds a planet shaped like a wagon wheel. The creatures live on the rim and the god...well I won't tell that part. One of the creatures is called a Titan, half horse, half human. When the commander crashes on the planet, she becomes the wizard, and in the third book she becomes the demon.

For those of you with short attention spans, try BLUE CHAMPAGNE. It's a book of short stories.

It's been over three months since I posted this thread, and there's been over 500 views. Looks like there's interest, but no one has made a reply. I was just wondering if anyone has been interested enough to read one of Varley's books. If so, what's your opinion?

The new trilogy is Red Lightening, Red Thunder and Rolling Thunder. Some of his others are The Ophiuchi Hot Line, Mammoth, and The Golden Globe.

I think my favorite John Varley story was "Press Enter" still shocking that he wrote that in 1997. I seriously couldn't stop thinking about it after finishing it. It wasn't so much the topic which was cool and amazing since it was so long ago, but it was the tone he set. Great story.
