Just got out of Jail

So I live in Texas, and just got busted with Possession of Marijuana (Class B Misdemeanor). Been doing drugs for a while, not once even close to becoming busted. Everything I did, I always made sure it was safe.

Me and my two friends just picked up an 1/8th and we went to go smoke a little bit. We have this place we always go, for the past two years we been there almost bi-weekly, and not once have we seen anyone or anything there.

We get there and get out of my car, and set up shop on the back of my car, as normal. Take out our Helix, grinder, put on some jam in the car and just talk while grinding. One of my friends surprised us, and she pulled out a blunt hidden in her dreads. So we leave everything on the back of the car, smoke that instead. Then we just get in my car and start talking. After about 30-40 minutes, we see car lights coming. My friend rushes out the car to go grab the stuff and hide it but the car turns his light and flashes his search light on him (by now its obvious its a cop) and yells through his speaker "HALT, POLICE".

He gets out of his car, tells my friend to get back in the car. He comes up to my window (driver), and asks me what we are doing. I tell him, just hanging out. He proceeds to walk around the car and see's everything. He goes to the back seat, tells my friend to get out, puts him in handcuffs. Comes to the drivers seat, does the same to me, and finally he does it to her (3rd friend). Searches the car, and very unnecessarily 6 other cops show up, so 7 cop cars in total were there. He tells us we are going to jail, and being slapped with POM (possession of Marijuana).

We get to the jail, and they do a full body search, everything. They took my female friend to the female section of jail, while keeping me and my friend in a room to fully strip and put on their jail attire. My heart was completely racing, i've never been in any trouble with the law, let alone taken to a State Pen prison. I spent the next six hours being booked and processed, while spending all that time in a holding cell with my bud and a serial killer who just went on a 20 person killing spree.

We spent the night in Gen Pop, got bail the next morning. Rough experience, diffidently not something I was expecting or use to. Still debating if its even worth it to do drugs anymore, considering all the payments I already payed (well over $1,000).

But yeah, busted :dupe:

 

I find it hard to believe that you were taken to a max security prison for pot. Or that a guy who just killed 20 people would be anywhere else but a max security prison. Whoever told you that was prolly full of ahit....especially if it was himself that told you. Either way, sucks to be busted, but now you know what it's like. I don't think you've lived till you've been locked up for a night lol. Good luck with court buddy.

It's weird how most people are discouraged after bein busted. After my first POM charge I wanted to smoke more sell more grow more, etc. I was determined to not let the man win. Wasn't gonna let those fools get me down. However Ive had 6 more possession charges since then, so maybe my route isn't a smart one

 

It was state, for the reason I am unsure. Maybe because it is much closer than county, or because something was wrong at county, i dont know. His number of 20 people, could easily be exaggerated, but he was in there for a murder spree, that i know for a fact. Maybe not nearly 20, but just reporting what i was told.

 

Jail sucks man, I'm glad you're out of that place! I still owe my parents a grand or so for bail fees. Hopefully the fuckers will leave you alone next time because you don't seem like too much trouble for em.

Well just an update on the whole situation. This whole thing seems to be years behind me. Even though its only a couple of months.

Ive been 100% clean from anything and everything, (kinda sucks), court date has been moved to Dec. 3rd. So it will be interesting to be see what I get

Its starting to look like some minor probation time.

 

Hey man, I'm in the same boat

Just recently started probation got about another year to go. Just get a lawyer, they'll take care of most of it and try to get you a lighter sentencing and then take it easy for a while, work, save up

 

i didnt even get that far...once i saw the word "halt"..i just figuired it was bullshit

Lol my best friend's cousin got caught smuggling 90 or so pounds in Ajo, AZ from Mexico and he only got probation! Not sure how that all worked out.

 

Sounds like he squealed to get off so lightly.

 

Lmao I say Halt all the time. It's what I say if I'm eating and someone reaches for something on my plate like a French fry or something and I will swat them away and yell Halt!

Your "trial" is probably a docket, where they will decide on a real trial date, or, if you have a lawyer, he may move to push it back for tactical or practical reasons. If not, that's where you can request an attorney, and they'd get started on whatever sort of indigency hearing you'd need to have an attorney assigned.

The docket is also where they'd want to jam a plea under your nose, possibly.

Unless you're saying that they did the docket, and that's the time they selected. Or that could just be another docket, if your lawyer did the push-back dealie.

You will only get probabion, if you plea. It sounds like you got rolled pretty bad and all, and maybe SOME lawyers could get you off, but you might go to jail if you tried, ESPECIALLY without a lawyer. Not for a super-long time, I guess.... maybe.

 

Probably can't charge him with anything because there was no THC in it. The good Mexican stuff is either grown in public parks in the USA or saved for the guys in Mexico. The way they smuggle it would ruin anything decent, all that comes over the border is scwag. My friend used to get that type of weight from there. It would come in tires, caskets, anything you can think of, but this was before things really got crazy down there. He was the first white guy to touch it, but with dank so cheap no one will even touch that anymore.
