have any of you seen the movie ghost world with thora birch, scarlett johansen and steve buscemi? it's one of my favorite movies and i've been watchign it alot lately, but i don't really know anyone else who likes it. what did you think of it?
i thought it was a really good film. I preferred the comic book tho...i'm so glad it kept the original ending...
I didn't even know about this movie, but I'm going to check it out. Anything that has Steve Buscemi in it gets my vote, even if the movie is pants and he's only in it for 10 minutes. He is to film what sodium monoglutomate is to Chinese food.
You don't get too many mainstream movies about teen girls lately that aren't about being a super consumer or a super model. Liked the intro over the credits. Is this a Hippie film? I think its mood qualifies it as such. But just what is a Hippie film?
this movie rules! (as enid would say) i can relate to enid, as i'm sure many other american girls can too. i love the seymour (steve buscemi) character. the best part is when he's in his little shabby car and the guy cuts him off and he goes nuts! that is hilarious! its so easy for people to relate to the people in this movie, i think. everyone knows someone that is exactly like a character from this movie.
hell yeah. actually enid and rebecca remind me of my friend and i, i'm enid... goin nowhere in life. i love josh, he's so useless and pointless to the storyline. the onyl thing he does is he helps us figurwe out that seymour wants enid when she mentions she likes josh. the movie is perfect
my favirite character was that man, who went into the store without his shirt, and had that big fight with the owner "yea you also invinted homos"
Me too! my friend and i use to quote this movie all the time. i always felt like enid because she was so alientated from everyone, even rebecca sometimes. (i really relate)
lol... "natures nectar.. wake up juice.." god that guy was soooo funny!!! i love in the extra stuff on the dvd, they have a fight between seymour and that guy with out the shirt and josh, its so funny, seymour goes ape shit and tries to push over a shelf in the store, its so funny because it wouldn't even budge. its so cute how he tries to hard though.
i saw it when it was on channel 4 the other day i thought it was rele rele good. i especially love the song that the girl with the glasses likes but cant remember what its called! sorry im pretty vague lol dnt tend to remember names..was the song called DEVIL GOT MY WOMAN??? i dont know ....
Wonderful movie. I waited for months for it to come out on DVD so I could see it. My oldest dd's best freind looks and acts EXACTLY like Thora Birch's character in this movie (she was before the movie came out, long before) Steve Buscemi is in it for more than 10 minutes, he's in, like most of the movie. I think it really captures late teenage angst without getting too pretentious. This is a great movie. My favorite line is the note they leave for the teenage boy. Dear Josh, we came here to fuck you. You are not home, therefore you are gay.
