all i know is that there are toxic mushrooms that look exactly like psilocybin shrooms that you can't tell the difference from unless you take a spore sample

and when i say toxic i mean deadly

    so, uh...be careful?

i know that psichedelic shrroms should bruise blue when touched, and also they look nothing like standard 'tesco' mushrooms :S

i agree, i would never go hunting without my buddy, who is an expert.
and i would never recommend eating any mushrooms you find without first asking an expert, taking a spore print, and checking the bruising, and knowing what types of shrooms grow commonly in your area(both psychedelic and otherwise)

well u see there are 4 types of mushrooms that grow in the field that i picked from and three of which are good. liberty caps and most shrooms you buy off dealers are hyroponically grown. good shrooms(non-toxic) that grow in fields are really really small and grow close to the ground and are a light brown to white in color ( the lighter the better actually) bad ones tend to have an orangey tint and the stem is thicker and under neath the head of the shroom is usually very big and visable whearas good shrooms' are very small and hardley visable.its usually really difficult to find mushrooms without actually getting on your hands and knees and searching..they grow from cow poop! so looking in a field, this time of year, which usually has a lot of cow traffic, chances are you'll find some shrooms. even if you pick the odd bad one chances are you picked over 85% good ones so the effects of the bad ones, you wouldnt really notice...yeah its never a good idea to go shroom picking your first time without someone who has gone before.
oh and smokindude, there was actually a write up in high times magazine about this field. check it out-tobin's field. i wouldnt bullshit on a matter so serious!

if you knew ANYTHING about shrooms, you'd know that it is imposable to grow shrooms hydroponically!

if you think they grow hydroponically, then i would NEVER trust the shrooms you pick because you don't know the first thing about shrooms.

lol, 85% of what you pick is good so the rest of them you wont really notice are bad.????????????? lets see, like a tiny tiny amount of "bad" shrooms could kill you slowly and painfully, and your only chance of survival would be a liver transplant.

    No, they're not bullshitting.

Hightimes ranked them that high out of shrooms in North America.

    Don't front.

I grew up 10 minutes away from that field so I know.

    Unfortunately,
I have to inform everyone here they tore up that field and it's now gone forever.

that's not true at all about tobin's

you can very easily tell the difference, but you should never even try until an old school expert picker shows you the ropes first hand.
You can't know until you see them up close and they tell you which ones,
but with that said I'll describe the correct ones to pick..

Not that I'm suggesting that anyone should do them,
but I might as well try to prevent people from poisoning themselves :p

    Psychedelic Tobin's mushrooms should be:
.dark blue or dark purple under the cap (never orange)
.they should have what's called a liberty cap (you have to see it for yourself)
.they should be relatively small (never big)
.and they grow in cow fields all across cape breton (none of them are as good as tobin's were though)

I know this thread is from like 2006,
but it can never hurt to add this info so people don't poison themselves.

    With all of that said,
find an experienced hippie to show you
DO NOT TRY THIS ON YOUR OWN

I've only done shrooms once and I know more about them than you! Besides, you're on the wrong board.
