rice. flour (to make flour/water biscuits). oatmeal. tvp. I can get all these things for less than $20.00 a day here. perhaps beans too,

i think in cases like this, one should definitely learn how to garden and have edible weeds. I've lived off a a meal of tvp, noodles and whatever veggies I could find. i would make enough to feed us two meals a day. this was our food for 4-5 months straight. we had barely change.

Lentils and rice... Cook them in the same pot, they both have the same cook time. Whatever else you have to throw at it for variety. (cheese, meats, veggies, whatever) :2thumbsup:

You would actually do better in the long run if you bought your dry goods, rice, beans, oats, etc. in bulk, 50-100lbs or 6 months worth at a time.
It will cost more initially but you will get a lot more for your money and then only need to re-supply the more perishable items monthly.
Over a year I bet you would save a good bit of change or be able to eat better every month.

I started gardening here at my farm 2 yrs ago and i am up to producing more than enough for 10 people yr round if they don't pig out.. Yes gardening is the key to good healthy foods. I can most of it but i also dry a lot too such as corn and peppers and onions potatos http://directory.ic.org/22661/Central_Pa_Mountain_farm Most of my diet has become veggies and some meat in winter time but i can eat some meat too in other months if i freeze it from a fall harvest like pig and deer and beef and chickens..

Loaves. Fishes. And be sure to invite Jesus.

One wonders, in the modern world, could it be tuna sandwiches?

communal meals are way cheaper no matter which way you go. it's cheaper to cook for 30 people together than it is to cook 30 individual meals.

between gardens, farms, and restaraunt depot, you should be fine.
