My dreams are getting weirder by the day...

Last night I had the weirdest dream.. I was walking outside my flats with my toddler like we do normally everyday. It was just like any other day, blue skies, clouds, random passers by smiling at my wobbley toddler fighting with the wind lol...then as we turned the corner it was like hell on earth. The skies turned blood red with firey writing appearing in the sky, I managed to make out 'fear is illusion, power is delusion'. The grass and trees were burnt to a crisp, the houses around us were crumbling, windows broken, everything was dark and glowing red. I grabbed my toddler and tried to turn around and go back to blue skies but when I turned around it was the same everywhere, so with her in my arms protecting her face I ran. I could hear people screaming and crying but I couldnt see anyone, someone screamed 'save us, why won't you help us' but I didnt know where these people were. As I ran the streets were closing in but the faster I ran the slower I actually moved. This evil sounding male voice boomed down from the sky, he was speaking in a different language but in my dream I could understand it (even though I can't now). I was replying to him screaming things like 'please let my little girl live' 'Its too late to save the people, everyone is unwilling' 'take me as your sacrifice great one'.... I was on my knees at this point, cuddling my little girl who was now just a pile of ash....

I woke up crying and I shouted subconciously 'fear is illusion'. I actually woke up to my little girl cuddling me (we bed share) so I must have been really loud...

I'm not religious and I'm quite firm with my belief that there is no god so the booming voice in the sky was pretty scary...

Im sick of having these dreams, I dream so vividly and remember most details about my dreams, some of them really scar me. :( thanks for reading if you did, really needed to get that off my chest....

Dreams are getting more intense, this has to do with what we talked about in PM, but you shouldn't take everything at face value, look for the symbolism.

I don't know what to look for. I'm looking at the obvious, but I think that is too obvious.

I've started a dream journal type thing, I am going to write everything I see from now on and also previous dreams I remember too, which is most of them from the age of about 6!

Also, this is a very brief summary of this dream, it is much more detailed. I could even feel the wind...

Wow, that sounds like a totally intense and scary experience! A dream journal is a good idea, and something I've been meaning to get around too lately as well. You say you can remember all your dreams from the age of 6?! Seriously? My dreams tend to start fading away the minute I wake up unless I do something active to remember them.

I dont think I've ever had a dream like that, but I have suffered from sleep paralysis episodes that might be comparable. Generally the sleep paralysis brings some sort of voice, accompanied by a feeling of the most intense terror and of course paralysis. Luckily it hasnt happened in awhile!

Anyway, I hope you figure out the reason behind these wild dreams and I'd definitely be interested to hear about any follow ups :)

I just can't forget my dreams. I have tried lol. And I dream almost every night too so my brain is overloaded! I'm trying to decode some of them but I never have time. I think I'll work on this one for now, I really feel like its trying to tell me something that isnt obvious!

I never dream (well, BASICALLY never) so i haven't experienced anything really comparable. When i do dream, its never particularly cryptic, reckon my subconscious is fairly straightforward lol

but its definitely worth reading a little jung, freud and lacan to try and decipher what's going on. I'm really interested in dreams, just wish i had 'em more often :/

also, i'd imagine some of the techniques people employ when lucid dreaming would help to control your fear level while dreaming.

That was quite scary, but I usually see death in a dream as a symbol of change. Your child is growing up and the baby age is dying, never to come back. Soon the harsh realities will present themselves and your daughter will have to sleep in her own bed. You felt unable to move fast enough in the dream. This is a quite common theme in dreams (running on ice or in syrup, feet nailed or glued to the floor ect.), and I see it as being powerless to stop time from passing. In other setting this could also mean inability to move forward in life, do you feel a bit left behind in your own development while your daughter is growing up fast?
Sorry for being a bit harsh, just trying to write what I feel about your dream.

I am pretty sure I dream every night, but I forget my dreams faster than I can write them down. It is like holding on to water.
Maybe this is why I have this obsession about other peoples dreams.

one of the hardest things to get your head around, i find, is the idea that dreams are just completely random impulses which we interpret entirely retroactively, so what we think of, and what feels like, "remembering" is actually constructing. i think this is called the activation-synthesis hypothesis.

you can call it what you will, but there is nothing random about the geography my own dreams take place in, which is not this earth or this universe, though in some ways uncannily like it. nor constructed after the fact. it is a very real and self consistant universe and when i'm there, i'm there.

just exactly like, when i'm here i'm here.

Thats the same as me! Sometimes I'm in places that feel so real it is almost like a memory rather than a dream..
