Well, Obama is deserving of Clint's rant. I thought it was quite good in a way. But he supports Mitt Romney, so I can't really take him seriously. It was decent entertainment.

    Bingo.
I said that to my SO. This isn't a speech, it's a bit. It's wasn't all bad but stand up ain't film and Mr. Eastwood ain't stand up, so I can see why it was viewed poorly.

He's still a decent guy that makes great movies.

Now Chuck Norris on the other hand can bite my rainbow coloured gonads.

yeah I am, cause he's a crook. I didn't say you guys are talking about him, I said you worship him and that's the reason why you hate all republicans, conservatives and, libertarians who can see through his BS. At least I'm not saying anything about ALL democrats like the OP.

Insulting someone on a personal level because of their political leanings is pretty foul. I don't even hear any opposition to any issues he talked about. Maybe he is "old and senile", but is not all of us resigned to the same fate? I don't claim to know him personally, but I love his movies and have an enormous amount of respect for his career. Whether I agree with him or not politically doesn't change that. The creator of this thread should be ashamed of himself.

Just watched Clint and his bit with the empty chair, and although it "made my day", I'm sure it had the exact opposite effect on Lemming like Democrats.
From the little I've been able to view of the RNC, I found it quite exhilarating. Now if only the Republican party will concentrate on bringing about some of the changes that are truly needed.

Clint's speech was so popular with the cons, because it deflected attention from the lack of substance in Romney's speech. In the last two years Romney has given no solutions what so ever, only insults to the president of the United States of America. The republicans have had no solutions for the last thirty years. Shrub had a republican congress for his first six years, and only doubled the national debt, started a stupid $3 trillion war, and gave millionaires $3 trillion in welfare, and totally destroyed the U.S. and global economies. And now the cons are trying to fool America into letting them do it all over again. God help us if this country is dumb enough to let them do it again.

Actually ,I think the world is running exactly as the repubs like it to run- right now. People are starving, not only the world over, but right here ,right now, wars are cranked up making loads of money for the military-industrial complex, they have the supreme court to do their bidding, businesses show no fealty to those of us(middle class) that made them successfull by buying their products,so off they go,vast ghettoes in many large cities that have been and continue to be completely ignored and have become battlegrounds, the media is owned by very few corporations, radio is rife with right -wing bluster, lies and exagerations that contributes---nay-exacerbates and foments violence pushing the weak minded folks who will and have killed innocent people right over the edge, the lower education system failing to teach children critical thinking, higher education becoming out of the reach of untold numbers of prospective students, politics getting nastier and nastier with 30 to 40 percent of our legislators absolutely unwilling to compromise under any circumstances, unions are busted and almost gone and the rich are getting richer by hook or by CROOK,millions are losing their homes-,ect,ect,ect. Hell,Ayn Rand would be damn pround of the" I got mine ,fuck the rest of civilization" types that hold ever stronger sway in the running of just about everything I can think of.

Government, ideally,is supposed to be by the people and for the people, not by the rich for the rich and not by the military-industrial complex for the military-industrial complex. Redundancy?

Those that have caused the current situation and think all is well ,have no heart, empathy or any type of claim on adhering to the religious principles they so readily flaunt as fronts for their lack of character. This era will eventually be looked upon as the era that lunacy was paramount in the affairs of humankind.,plus it remains to be seen whether we will disappear from this little blue ball hurtling from?? to ??in the middle of ?? because of our own stupidity.

So carry on boys--one day you'll own it ALL. And try to remain as pleasant, fair, light hearted and co-operative as you are now, please. It suits you.

Thanks brother. It's heartfelt. It's obvious that the whole rig is run incorrectly,to anyone that can actually think beyond their own noses/desires. That there is/could be enough for EVERYONE on this earth just doesn't occur to the types I mentioned.

Clint's bit was not so much a speech but instead a satirical exposé of Obama, the person and his Presidency. In the last 3+ years we've seen no solutions from those who actually possess the power and have been given the duty and responsibility to bring about changes beneficial to the country and the people. If speaking the truth insults, so be it. Bush has been gone for nearly 4 years now, and you might recognize the fact that things really went bad only after the Democrats took control of BOTH houses of Congress, which under Bush the Republicans, some of whom are simply Democrats in Republican clothing, were unable to deal with motions set in place long ago by Democrats.
At some point, people need to recognize as fact that the U.S. government and the Federal reserve are incapable of creating money, but only create debt which provides the illusion of being money. Just as when gold and silver were our money, it is work which produces money, or more appropriately stated, reduces debt.

    What happened to Clint Eastwood?
Rather than create so many different titled threads, why not just have a single thread titled "Politics - Left wing versus Right wing"?

The republicans have obstructed everything Obama has tried to do to bring America out of the collapse Shrub and the cons put us in four years ago. The republicans in congress have filibustered more than any other congress in American history. So you've only got the right wing fascist republicans to blame.

Start one and see what you get.

You seem to have an inordinate hate for your president. Do you actually read some of these recent posts?
