The only problem with Homemade Movies is what if one ended up online? I know I would die if I see one of my Videos uploaded. The worst I've experienced is my partner showed a Video to one of his friends when he was drunk.

They won't end up online unless you want them to. Unless you're a famous celeb and theyre sought after... No ones going to steal your shit and post it online, unless you get into a huge fight with your girl and she has pics of JUST you... cause why would she post herself. If you're the guy and you're not going to post it, then it won't get out (usually it's the guys that think bragging rights are "cool")

me and my wife started filming and documenting our married life back in 1990 at our wedding, which we had professionally filmed by a camera crew who worked at the same tv station i was working at.

back then it was filmed in betamax, and i would edit the footage and convert it to dvd quality mpeg2 format.

our next forey into videos started when my wife was 4 months pregnant with our now 13y/o daughter, and i had just bought a large professional shoulder mounted philips betacam video camera so we could start filming family stuff into the future.

the first few months of filming during pregnancy was just of her showing off the belly, and a few shots of the boobs getting bigger, no big deal, but i recall one night (she was 8 months gone) after i filmed a few moments of her in the bath, she asked me if we could shoot some video in the bedroom as long as it was just for our own viewing, and the footage was kept safely stored away.

from there, well, we went on to film a lot of personal footage over the following 3 years (plus family videos) then the private vids just kind of stopped, no real reason, just stopped doing it, apart from some random footage shot on my new dv cam every now and then (we continued the family vids tho, have now got hundreds of them stored in our archive)

we just recently bought a brand new panasonic HDC-SDT750 hd cam, shoots in full HD (bluray format) and we have filmed a few random moments on that over the past 2 or 3 weeks, and once my extra 3 batteries and 64gb sdxc cards arrive, we are going to start filming stuff again, just for some fun.

so yeah, no harm in filming home vids, as long as they are done nicely, and the vids are kept secure, and not stored permanantly on some computer in the home.

on top of filming couples weddings, i also do other sideline work for some of those couples, who actually ask if i would film some special moments for them on the wedding night (after they leave the wedding venue)

not all couples ask for me to do the filming for them, for obvious reasons, but some do because they want it shot properly, but others will ask if i can hire a video cam to them so they can actually film their own videos once they get to their bridal suite.

many of those who do film their own footage will bring it to me for editing, and output to bluray or dvd, whatever the case might be.

there has to be a lot of confidentiality involved in doing this kind of thing, but when its done right, there is never any problems with doing it, once the videos are done, all footage is handed back to the couple, or is destroyed, depending on what the couple wants to do with it.
