Tarot cards

I've had my deck since I was 13. I'm not sure if they feel right or not, however, they have proven to be very accurate.

I didn't smudge my deck (or even know what that was) until about a year ago.

I do not believe in the "buying your own deck" superstitions, however, mine happened to be a gift, so it might be different.

A small weird thing about my cards - which is how I know there is some sort of connection between me and the cards - I can not sleep unless I know where they are. Even if I don't touch them for months, if I can't see them in my head, I can't fall asleep at night.

Another little crazy thing you can try - I sleep with mine under my pillow when I'm having an "intuitive phase" and when I'm getting a lot of messages. I don't know why, but something inside of me feels that makes a difference during the times where my mind's eye is most active.

I really need some help. I have had my favourite deck for such a long time, I've always had such a strong connection with this deck, but recently I feel like I've lost this connection. In the time I've had these cards, I;'ve only cleansed them once (following these guidelines LINK REMOVEDand this is where things changed. I felt like they needed cleansing as I was going through a period where I was feeling like there was a sort of block. But since then, things have only got worse and I feel no connection at all with my deck. I don't know what to do :-( help!

I have tried sleeping with the cards under my pillow but to no success.

Have you lost connection with anything else at around the same time?

 

It is just this deck of cards. But they were my favorite and the cards that i have always felt the strongest connection. Maybe I just need a change.

 

Some magical tools will tell you in no uncertain terms that it is time to set them down, or pass them on to someone else. (depending on the tool... cards usually don't get passed on) It may be that you can reconnect some time in the future and you need to work with something else right now.

 

Tyrsonswood could be right. But if they are your favourite and you really want to reconnect,you could try once more to smudge them with buffalo sage with intent.

 

I think its interesting when people make their own cards. I made sets out of wood and other materials, its really fun

 

While cleaning out closets I have come across decks that I haven't seen in several years.

The decks I found were a Rider Waite, a Shapeshifter deck, and Rohrig deck. I never connected much with this Rider Waite. I never really tried the Shapeshifter deck although there is a book with it. The Rohrig deck I got because it was what my High Priestess used and I liked the images on the cards.

I normally use Aleister Crowley's Thoth deck because the deck connects and works so well for me.

I also found a set of Runes that my husband made.

 

I don't keep my cards any special way, but I cleanse them like I would a crystal before using them. I have a little ritual for that, it doesn't matter what you do as much as the intent. For many years I had a very old and unusual Mexican deck that was given me by one of my first teachers. After 40 years I passed them along to an Indian from Zacatecas who'd become my friend. I generally use the Aquarian Tarot though I also have the Crow's Magick deck. I also have a fairly pristine copy of the 007 James Bond deck, featured in the movie Live And Let Die.

 

I've also worked with the Crows' Magick deck. Worked very well for me. Lent them out and never got them back (must have worked well for them too, lol). I have three left, Rider, Druid Animal Oracle and Faeries Oracle by Froud.

Which Mexican deck did you have. I'm interested

 

The faeries oracle is my go to deck.

 

Truly magical.

Froud has another one out...Good Faery, Bad Faery...I hear it's pretty good too.
