I have very bad Insomnia, and I average about 3 hours of sleep per night if I am lucky. Does anyone have any suggestions (natural remedies) on what I can do? I have tried a lot of things, and I am going nuts. Been doing this for 7 years.

Hey thanks for the reply! :)
Sadly I have done that too. It worked for the first day, then never worked again, no matter how much I took.

    Thanks Jimmy!:)
I have tried that too. I've walked between 100 yards to a mile before bed, and I have read some of the most boring stuff that I could find.

Is your room dark? Sleeping in a very dark room or using an eye mask can help.

Thanks for the reply m8fax. :)
Yes, my room is dark. The walls are painted black, and the windows have boards on them. Even with that and using an eye-cover, it does not help. I even use soft ear-plugs to drown out any noise.

    It's in your username. :ssmokeit:

I struggle with insomnia, too. I'm actually dealing with some insomnia right now since my stash ran out.

Melatonin is hit or miss, but the good green herb nearly always helps me get to sleep. I really pity you if it doesn't.

Nope it does not help. I can smoke some heavy triched-out Indica and it does nothing to help. Trust me, I tried to smoking my self stupid a few times, to try and get sleep.

That's horrible. :( Wish I could help. Maybe your brain just isn't wired to process melatonin?

Normally, the brain converts serotonin to melatonin in order bring about sleep.

You're welcome, bro. I don't know what your beliefs are, but all I can encourage you to do is pray about it. Helps to relax and clear the mind. I hope you find a solution.

I wonder if psychedelic drugs would help in some way. Never heard about them helping insomnia, but I do know that they deal with serotonin receptors. And they have helped people dealing with serious physical issues such as cluster headaches.

I've actually read reports of people with insomnia being treated with shrooms. I am going to try that soon. I've been hesitant, because shrooms usually make me very hyper.

I work out 6-7 days per week, not much more sure what I can do. If I do too much more, I'll be taking a permanent nap.

Yes I have, sadly the tea or extract does nothing for me.

I've dealt with insomnia since I was a teenager...before I even knew there was a word for it. I have learned that when you go long enough without sleep, your body will finally let you sleep (if only for little while).
Years ago, I believe I tried every pill there ever was...and really, when you've got it, you got it. Not seconals, tuinals or nothing would work (except for they did get me high, for a time ;)).
I, too, have tried melatonin (VERY hit and miss with that), combined with caps of valerian root. Really, those 2 work about as good as the high-powered stuff.
I quit smoking (weed) and found it even MORE difficult to sleep, and the accompanying dreams are just horrific...so I would NEVER suggest anybody quit smoking, if it helps you whatsoever. (I had personal reasons for quitting, which most people would find woo-woo and nuts.)
I doubt sincerely if shrooms would help in the least with this.
Some teas can be very relaxing...and as crazy as this sounds, over-the-counter regular sleep meds and/or "sleep syrup" works occasionally.
Like I say, I just learned that eventually, I will sleep...and when I am the least bit sleepy, I go to sleep THEN. To hell with waiting until a certain time or whatever. If I made myself stay awake when I actually could sleep to wait on that special, certain moment that I should be sleeping, I might NEVER get any sleep.
    I wish you luck.

I know exactly what you mean. I have what I call my "crash time." My mind just shuts down after so long. One time I went 8 days with no sleep. Now I will be up for 18 to 48 hours, then crash for 3 or 4 hours. It's frustrating, because I have to plan my time (guessing) around when I am going to crash.

    Few things,

I would recommend California poppy - it's actions are non-addictive hypnotic, tranquilizer and anodyne.
Don't bother with the tea, it'll be too weak, you need a tincture. An essence.
If that doesn't do it, a tincture of Hops - sedative, hypnotic and anodyne, should do it. (about 5ml tincture)
The only thing is with the Hops is that you shouldn't take it if depression is a problem, and do not exceed the dose.

Both of these herbs can be combined with Passionflower, Valerian or Cowslip to give it a bit more of a punch.

    Peace,
    ~ FlowerMama
