Has anyone noticed strange heat lightening this year?

I've lived in the same area my whole life and I've always been outdoorsy so I'm pretty in tune with the various skies of summer. I know I've never seen anything like this. Several times this summer strange dark, low lying clouds gather and huge balls of heat lightening flash in the clouds for an hour or so. No thunder or rain ever comes of it. Sometimes the lightening gets fucking intense. Like literal balls of electricity that explodes in these clouds.

Fucking weird man. I have a video I've been meaning to upload to youtube. I know this area hasn't had heat lightening like this before, at least in my lifetime. I was wondering if anyone else has noticed anything like that in other areas.

It's pretty common in South Louisiana. I've seen heat lightning shows over the lake that go on for hours, it's highly amusing when you're baked.

Heat lightening is nothing else than thunderstorms in a distance. At night, those thunderstorms can be seen more than 100 Km away. When you see lightening just check on the weather radar, it will show precipitations in the direction of the lightening.
The intensity of lightening is an indicator for the violence of those storms. When you see lightening with a frequency of more than one a second then the associated thunderstorms are quite strong and likely to create damage.
Yesterday evening we had 3 thunderstorm cells at the french boarder which I observed, they passed so close at one moment that I could hear some thunder from them in a far distance. Their anvil clouds were not even over us and I could still hear some distant thunder which is rare.

I just think its odd that I've never seen heat lightening of this magnitude before in this area. Its unusual.

I dont know where you live but here in western europe the strongest distant storms I could observe produced up to 4 lightening strikes a second.

here a video of the thunderstorms which passed close to my place that night. They caused quite some damage from strong wind gusts, large hail and flooding as well as house fires by lightening.

From the research I have done recently, I might suggest that it's conceivable that it could be a direct result of a governmental experimentation project that they are doing. To be brief, they say they are heating up the ionosphere layer of the atmosphere around/above the Earth. They do this with a phased array of 180 antennae; which makes the waves steerable, and they can be directed to a selected target area; but not reliably so. It is written that it is capable of heating a 1000 square kilometer area of the ionosphere to over 50,000 degrees. The waves from all of the antennae are focused to meet at a single point; then the collective waveform is shot up into the ionosphere; where it is reflected back down to Earth somewhere. I say "somewhere" because many scientists claim that the people doing the experimentation don't really reliably know the exact location where the reflected waves will land back on Earth. As well, many reputable scientists not involved with the project say, that to experiment with our Earth's atmosphere is NOT a good idea - particularly considering that the people conducting the project don't really know everything about what they are doing. This type of experimentation has not been done before, and it is probable that serious ramifications of an untold origin/magnitude/type could occur. The layers of atmosphere are there to protect the Earth, not to be subject to experimentation. The "Law of Unintended Consequences" could really come back to bite 'em in the a_s on this one.

From my personal perspective, they call something an "experiment" because that's exactly what it is: an experiment is a test, trial, or tentative procedure; an act or
operation for the purpose of discovering something unknown. Let's get serious here, folks - it's not like we're cooking dinner, let's say; and "let's add some garlic this time and see how it tastes." They're messing with the friggin' atmosphere of our planet - and they didn't even ask us first! I personally object to that! Again, my opinion is that this experiment could potentially put us inhabitants of the Earth in harm's way one day, if it goes way wrong. To experiment - to expect the unexpected, by defaut; is nuts, in that arena.

    Are you talking about HAARP?

That actually crossed my mind too.

Something struck me as off about this heat lightening because I know what heat lightening in my area looks like - its looked the same for as long as I can remember.

This year the heat lightening been intensely concentrated in eerie, low lying dark clouds (I've never seen clouds like this either. The color isn't normal.)

Whether its man-made climate change, naturally occuring climate change, or government induced climate change, there's somethin' happenin' here...and what it is ain't exactly clear.

I have never seen this kind of heat lightening and I don't know what would be my reaction if I could see it. I guess it is so strange to notice this thing but climate change has a big factor of this.
