It is seriously like the worst thing that has ever happened to me. I am literally scared as hell. I have been sort of blocking it out and trying to make it seem like it didn't really happen. So, I was going on a walk around the block that is right next to mine. It has a huge building called the Blair Arcade, which is like a fancy mini shopping mall for rich people and a few small apartment buildings. I walked to the street on the other side of that block where my school is and a bar, and then I walked about halfway down the block to where the Blair Arcade ends and there is a huge parking lot. I walked through the parking lot to an alley that goes behind the Blair Arcade and walked down that alley until it forks and gives you the choice of two alleys. I took the alley that goes out to my street.

I was about halfway down the alley when out of nowhere someone started punching my face really hard. I froze up and couldn't think because it was so dark and I didn't see anyone until it started happening. And then someone else grabbed my hands from behind and covered my mouth when I started freaking out. The other guy kept punching me on the head, mostly on my temple and some on my jaw. Then after awhile of punching me he asked for my money and I told him that I didn't have any and to check my pockets. He checked my pockets and just kept hitting me after he knew I didn't have any money. And this guy was so fucking strong each hit felt like a fucking brick hitting my head. Then the guy behind me started strangling me. I fucking felt my trachea close up and in my head I fucking thought I was going to die. I was sure of it, I was so fucking scared. I think I passed out a little because I don't remember going to the ground, but when I was on the ground they just continued to strangle me and punch me in the face. The whole time they had their hand over my face as well. But for like two seconds one of the guys hands slipped off my face and I wasn't being strangled so I screamed Help Me as loud as I possibly could. Then they covered my face up again and hit me, but someone heard from across the street and ran over to the alley and the ran off in the other direction. Then the guy who heard it brought me to his front porch and called the cops. The cops just kept asking me what they looked like, but it was so dark all I could tell was that they were wearing black hoodies, black pants and black hats with black bandanas over their faces. And they were really fucking strong. I couldn't even tell their skin color because it was so dark. They asked me if I wanted to go to the hospital but I said no because I was freaking out and just wanted it to be over. So I just went home and locked all my windows and iced my head all night.

You can't really tell when you look at me that it was so bad, but all the bruises are on the sides of my head under my hair. My neck looks really fucked up, it has a big long red line that hurts like hell. And my left ear is all fucked up and bruised and the doctor said that I have a perforated ear drum. I can't really hear anything much out of my left ear, as if my fucking hearing wasn't bad enough already. The doctor says that the holes in my ear drum will "most likely" go away, so i should be fine. I am just really fucking scared. Most of the time I am fine but I keep getting flashbacks and just cannot believe that it really happened. It was a fucking nightmare in real life and I thought I was going to die. I just kept thinking how I haven't done anything with myself and what a fucking waste everything would have been. I just don't know why the fuck it happened to me either. It was like the perfect timing. I walk down that alley all the fucking time. It is right across that street from my house. And it was midnight on the night before Labor Day weekend so there were a ton of people outside. I always feel safe in this neighborhood, but I guess not anymore. I just cannot believe people can be so fucking evil. You always hear about shit like that, but I never in a million years would have thought I could be the victim of someone who just sits in alleys waiting for someone to walk by. And the more I think about it, the more I am positive that they were trying to kill me. They didn't stop after they knew I had no money. They didn't even stop after I yelled for help, they only stopped when that guy from across the street ran over. He fucking saved my life..... and I don't even remember his name.

This is all just way too much for my head, so I hope you guys understand why I had to write all this out for you. Some people think I am really stupid for walking down that alley. But I always walk down that alley. My roomates friends apartment is down that alley and we walked there in the middle of the night a bunch of times. It is just so fucking crazy I don't know what to think. I am really happy to be alive, but it just seems so dramatic and unreal to say that so I just feel weird and really scared. A lot of people have been telling me that I should carry around a knife or pepper spray. But it all happened way too fast for me to even have a chance to grab anything from my pocket. I didn't even know they were there until one of them punched me, and there was not even time to react or even think before the guy behind me, who I didn't know was there, grabbed my arms. If I would have had a weapon they would have gotten to it before I could, and I don't even want to know what would have happened then.

....Has anything like this ever happened to any of you guys? If so, please share what happened. Thank you.

... I get what you are saying, but there really would have been no possible way to even grab something out of a belt. I had no control over my arms after the guy grabbed me, and there was not even enough time to think. It was so dark and they got control of me right away. They would have found something in my belt as well. I think the only thing that would have made them go away is if I had money, but I don't even know if that would have worked.

That sounds terrifying. It really sucks to think that people do things like this.

Just a piece of advice, it makes it much easier to read a long post if you break it up into sections.

I've been robbed/mugged at knife point but never pumped like that - with two people. I'd get a dog or walk with a someone else - your less vulnerable that way.

I'm sorry you had to go through such a terrifying experience, and I'm glad that a friendly guy came to your aid. Nobody should be put through that, especially not someone who is just minding their own business and not harming anyone. I hope you can get over this terrible incident soon, and that the guys who attacked you are caught before they actually do kill someone.

That's really bad and I'm sorry that happened to you. Especially since it was right in your neighborhood. The only thing I can think of is to now stay out of the places that are so dark, you can't see anything. What Rolling said would be a long term solution,I guess. Someone was beaten pretty badly with a baseball bat in an alley a block from me a few years ago. Dark alleys must attract scum-bags. I guess there' always a bright side--if you want to call it that-- and that is that they didn't use a gun or knife on you.

Shit dude, that sucks... what a bunch of cowards!

I guess all I have to tell you is that it's normal that you are feeling the way you are feeling right now. It's a terrifying experience. That being said, I promise it will get better in time.

That's fucked man. I guess this is kind've a case for carrying NON-letahl weapons. A taser or pepper spray could help in that sort've situation, but not give a person a way to kill you.

I would maybe avoid that alley in the future. When I had a pocket flashlight on my keybelt, I always turned it on in dark alleys.

If I were you I would go up to that house again and let him know how thankful you are; maybe offer to give him some sort've gift if you have the money. It's not every day someone is heroic, and it's good to let them know they've done right, and to keep spreading the good around.

The peace of mind that comes with the No-Contact Jacket is not cheap. If becoming walking weapon appeals to you, the No Contact Jacket coasts around $1000.

In most cases Bear Mace would do the trick. The other option is to carry a small pistol in each hand in the pockets of your jacket and don't bother drawing them. That 's legal in Az no permit required.

get a flashlight and some pepper spray or bear mace.

if this were to happen again, i doubt it would happen the same way. you'll probably have time to spray some mace at least.

i've gotten the shit kicked outta me a couple of times. not fun.
one time i flipped off a guy for honking at me on my bicycle. he stopped his car, got out, and kicked my ass. he blasted me so many times in the temples before i knew what was happening. then i picked up a nearby stick to defend myself.

another time, some asshole in a bar started shit with me. he bumped me and said "SORRY DUDE! no big deal? sorry sorry"
i said "it's ok, no problem"
couple minutes later he punches me in the face outta nowhere, so my drunken decision was to throw my beer bottle at his face. then i get asked to leave the bar, and when i do there he is with a bunch of friends. he did a hockey move of pulling my winter jacket over my head and then they all kicked my ass. quite literally, i was on the ground getting kicked, and then one friend in particular rescued me.

it'd be nice if i was tougher, but i'd rather just avoid getting in fights. can't do that when people fucking attack you though

I remember once I was in a nite-club alone, and I saw a fight break out next to me(which I later realised was probably a random attack). One punch and the other guy went to the floor. He then started punching me because I was the nearest guy still standing. My first instinct was to let him no I wasn't a threat and sort of stepped back a little. He got me with just the first in the eye. I put my hands up and blocked the rest of his punches while stepping back. He was hitting really fast & I felt like I couldn't get one back it felt over powering. After about six punches I punches him back once. It seemed to take the wind out of his sails. I felt as if I could have handled it from there but at that moment I realised most of the guys around me were his buddies. They all went for me, I ran to the edge of the dance floor. I ripped my jumper to get away from one as he pulled me. When I was at the edge one acted like I was the one out of line when I had his fists up like as if to say 'stop'. The bouncers then came along. It was like your attack in that it was completely random, I couldn't understand. I was really angry I went to the gurads about it. They had the guys passport details and I got the guards involved but they said they didn't have enough evidence as the camera footage was blurry. My black eye took about a 12 days to disappear. I plan on appealing the situation yet

I was no way near as un-lucky as you though as I could at least see

yeah the time i described in the bar was pretty random as well. i think he wanted to prove he was a tough guy, so he picked out one of the tallest dudes in the bar to beat up. i was pretty wasted, and i'm skinny as fuck, but if he beat me up in front of a bunch of people, he figured it would make him look bad ass.
