For those of you who smokes weed, how does it feel to get high? :O I mean do you see rainbows, and stuff? I'm just curious on what you really see when your high I never tried one before, so I don't know the feeling of being high XD Thank you
Some people say they "trip" on weed. They may get slight visual distortions, but I have never personally had this happen. Weed is certainly nothing compared to a true psychedelic such as LSD. It's a feeling of relaxation, and joy. The only way to really know is to try it yourself.
How does it feel to be happy? Drunk? Afraid? How do flowers smell? What does water taste like? Some questions are impossible to answer satisfactorily. If you are looking for clinical definitions, you will find them through a quick google search; words describing emotions and sensations. But will that help you understand what it's like? Even if you know the exact mechanisms that keep a car running, and you've seen hundreds of cars, you'll never know what it's like to drive one until you actually do. It is not a "trip", and you will not hallucinate. Also, a bit of paranoia is normal, especially if you are smoking potent weed. Just remember weed can not cause medical complications (I've had more than one friend freak out and want to go to hospital)
I disagree. While LSD/shrooms are much more powerful than weed I have had very powerful trips on pot. I suppose it depends on the strength of the herb/your mindset/how it is prepared/your tolerance etc. Strangely enough after i did salvia I had very intense weed trips with visuals.
I had a friend who was the biggest stoner out of our group in the first year of college, he took a Salvia trip and smoked weed once or twice after that and then stopped smoking weed because he was getting uncomfortably intense weed experiences. The majority of my weed experiences have been characterized by a content, drifting contemplative headspace with a softening of my vision so like movies or pretty scenery seems amplified. Music is enhanced and food is amazing on it, time feels like it goes by slow. I have had a few 'trips' with weed, edibles in particular, that have been closer to a hallucinogenic experience. Those experience sometimes were the following day(s) after a trip with a Hallucinogen and often more unpleasant...more distorted headspace, confusion, visual distortions.
I can describe it. Its not so much that things change, reality changes, or anything like that. Your perception changes. Your mind's interpretation of what you see changes and you do kind of get visuals. For me its like images twist, become "animated" in a way, certain patterns might pop out, sometimes there's even colors and "breathing" like being on shrooms. Things sometimes change colors and "strobe" like being at a rave. I've got photographic memory, sometimes to the point where I can remember people, places, etc in full-color full-detail. Many times that's where I trip the most, weird imagery popping up in my minds eye. The kind of stuff you see in movies as a "weed trip", but not all of it is enjoyable. Its not something I have to close my eyes to see, its not overlain over reality so it kinda gets in the way of experiencing what's actually going on.
When I smoke weed it releases my mind and stimulates creativity. Its like my brain is enclosed in a corral where it can only do things within a small circle. Repeatitive, monotonous thoughts.....then take a hit and tear down the gate. My mind reaches places that its probably not meant to go LMAO ....anyways....its a floaty, euphoric, lazy, riding the wave kinda high. LOVE IT!
I've had some slight visual distortions. Here is the way I can best describe it: When I get really high (usually when I have a long break and smoke again) my vision will start to almost flicker. It's as if my eyes are moving like they would be in REM sleep, back and forth repeatedly within seconds. The effect it has for me, is that the middle or center of my vision will be extremely high quality, and the edge of my vision is very blurred and is appearing to shift rapidly (because of the eye flickering) Now this sounds more intense then it is, but when it first happens is the only time I feel uncomfortable. This happens about 5 minutes after I smoke and lasts for 30 minutes before it starts to calm down and I'm just feeling body sensations. This shift of vision makes me feel like I'm placed into a dreamlike state. Playing video games high is amazing, because if you play Xbox like COD Halo, whatever, you get sucked into the world and it becomes very real. One of my favorite things to do is play Skyrim high, just explore and hike up mountains and stuff with a bow and some arrows. I actually like Call of Duty a lot when I'm high. You'll run very slow, and you get really into the game, it feels like I'm in a war! (Which I guess I'd hate in real life..) Other than that, visual "distortions" seem to be non-existent, but your vision does improve. Idk, when I get on my computer, sometimes the window seems like it's under a fish eye lens, just because I seem to focus visually on the center of the screen. When I first smoke, I usually have some paranoia for about 10 minutes. I get very high, oh man where am I? How did I get here? What if someone catches us? What'd I say. Then I gradually just chill down, and I reach a nice dreamlike headspace. Euphoria. The taste of smoke lingers in your mouth forever. And drinking something mixes with the smoky flavor and tastes incredible. It's not as cartoony as you may think, you won't see imaginary people like Mickey Mouse come up to you or anything. But I have experienced vision adjustments. I've felt like I was in a cartoon world, just the way everything was so crisp and clean. I've seen the world as is if it were painted. Then again, this may all be in my head, it's the way I can describe it to my self, it could be very different for you. Being high is strange, because it can be a lot different each time, mind set is probably the most important factor. And that's usually improved with better settings. As for the memory component. It's as if you live more in the moment, you don't really think about what just happened, its as if you forgot where you were 2 seconds ago. But you are aware of what you're doing at the present moment, which you're always in. I figure thats why people are always singing about how living in the moment is a good philosophy. Your body may feel hallow, and I just love falling asleep while high! It's soo comfy! I don't know what to compare the body sensations to, but hopefully that was some interesting info! Are you planning on trying it? Or did you just want to know? Edit: (Fixed up some mistakes that didn't make sense) and add: The great thing about weed though, is that you can have a great time if you want. The worst thing that ever happens is some paranoia, which is a very natural response. If you can try it with people you trust, you'll be fine
When I'm high, I always feel really spaced out, like, a lot less calculating and more empathetic. I always want to give people things, and I really just genuinely enjoy life in a really innocent, wholesome way. That's on sativa. On indica, I just feel relaxed and I want to listen to jazz a lot.
visual effects : an overlay of static, a grid of black and white activity over everything, especially in the dark feelings of heaviness that moment when you sink into a hot bath or hottub, that "Ahhhhh..." that's what smoking pot feels like. relaxation. just search on youtube "marijuana documentary" and watch some if you really want to learn more. it's nothing like "seeing rainbows and unicorns", even real "tripping", like on LSD or mushrooms, is not really like that.
I don't usually share this info with anyone, but ,here we go. I have PTSD. I don't do well in crowds, so malls, concerts, etc. are a no go. Even family get together with more than a few people can be a problem. I would sleep maybe 4 hour per day. Being on "watch" as my wife would call it. Marijuana helps calm me down. I can walk thru malls, up and down the strip ( I live in Las Vegas), and many other things I couldn't do without marijuana. I didn't even used to be able and sit down and watch TV for long as I was always going to look out the windows and everything due to what they call hyperviligence. It calms me down and gives me a feeling of well-being enough to be able to relax and enjoy life and I am grateful for it. For example, someone on here questioned my intelligence the other day. My wife gave me a kiss and let me know how proud she was of me because I was able to shrug it off and not reply in kind or want to find the person and slit his throat. That is how great marijuana has been for me.
The first time i was high i guess it was kind of a trip. Everything looked so different to me. So vivid and colourful and happy. Mannnnnn i'll never ever forget it.
feels a bit hazy, but basicly you tend to notice more things...like sounds and things in general you didn't know where there...and you think a lot. sometimes if you smoke too much you puke up.
This!^ When I first started smoking weed I always experienced a grid like pattern over everything. Back then it was really intricate, and finely detailed, like I could see individual shapes forming the grid... Now it is much more like static, just little colored dots faintly covering things, defiantly not as defined as when I first started smoking. It is really a huge difference between the high you get only have smoked a couple times compared to a habitual smokers high. My first few times getting high everything was extremely bright and everything looked as if I was looking out a bubble. Colors would sometimes morph or appear to raise off the objects. I remember getting intense sensations, almost like you were free falling into a void when you were just sitting on the couch. You feel like your lighter, and almost like your vibrating with this intense sensation. I defiantly had amazing closed eyes visuals. I would see like these little octagonal balls shifting around in patterns, and I could actually use my will to make them multiply or divide, or shift the directions of the patterns almost like an lsd trip. I remember turning about 10 little balls into a million, just by thinking it, and their were actually like 1 million little balls in very fine detail. Now a days I wish for something like that to happen, but it is far from it. Being high now feels like just a warm sensation. Like someone put a warm toilet on your brain and your mind is just kind of just relaxing in it. You feel a heaviness around the eyes and that actually becomes an enjoyable sign of being stoned after awhile. Their is usually the feeling of your mind shifting into another domain of thought. There is also a sort of mild numbness/tingle that comes with it depending on the strain. Sometimes if you smoke a lot their is still some visual changes, everything begins to look more like videogame graphics with really saturated colors. Like the others said you have to experience it for yourself to really know. Being high was nothing I thought it was before I smoked. Its a unique experience all its own.
